The cool thing is that it lets me know if a new version of the add-on is available, just click a button and it is installed! Wow! I just noticed the automatic spell-checking when writing this post :-D Best regards, Paul.

Do I need to manually add a dictionary before the spell-checking is enabled? It seems that I don't have spell-checking capabilities by default, but there's an option to add dictionary when I right-click.

Firefox 2.0[^], that is :-D It WILL break a lot of extensions (now officially called add-ons), but GreaseMonkey is there. You might want to wait for a week until everyone updates their add-ons to 2.0.

I just switched to 1.5 when Code Project started displaying the lounge funky in 1.0.x. I think I'll wait at least six months. What I don't like about 1.5 is that hitting a link always loads a new tab, instead of running in the last one used. Guess people want that, but I grew accustomed. Hit all the news links I wanted and then surf backwards in the single window... oh well. . . such is the tide.

        This statement is false.

Did you have an extension installed, or changed an option somewhere? AFAIK Firefox only opens in a new tab if the link targets a _blank or you specified it to open in a new tab/window.

I should clarify, its when hitting a link outside the browser. When another application has a link it would load in the last used tab, but after the update it would open a new tab. I found the setting in Options - Tabs...

If a link opens in a new tab, then that's something specified in the link, not the browser.

did you try right clicking the word? A few suggestions should appear on the top of the context menu.

Firefox 2.0[^], that is :-D It WILL break a lot of extensions (now officially called add-ons), but GreaseMonkey is there. You might want to wait for a week until everyone updates their add-ons to 2.0.

Having used it for a day I find the close buttons on each tab instead of the single close button on the right of the tabs a problem because I keep closing the tab I'm trying to switch to

Nope, nothing. I am using an Apple, but it would seem very strange of them to implement the spellchecker but not the suggestions. I'm sensing some plugin problem here...
