What I don't like about 1.5 is that hitting a link always loads a new tab, instead of running in the last one used.

he cool thing is that it lets me know if a new version of the add-on is available
Uh...that feature has been there for quite some time actually :)

I just noticed the automatic spell-checking when writing this post
Do I need to manually add a dictionary before the spell-checking is enabled? It seems that I don't have spell-checking capabilities by default, but there's an option to add dictionary when I right-click.

I cannot remember adding a spell-checker. But, right-click in a text box and see if the "Spell check this field" menu item is checked. Best regards, Paul.
Jesus Christ is LOVE! Please tell somebody.

Did you have an extension installed, or changed an option somewhere? AFAIK Firefox only opens in a new tab if the link targets a _blank or you specified it to open in a new tab/window.
If a link opens in a new tab, then that's something specified in the link, not the browser.

Firefox 2.0[^], that is :-D It WILL break a lot of extensions (now officially called add-ons), but GreaseMonkey is there. You might want to wait for a week until everyone updates their add-ons to 2.0.

The version that was linked to by digg and slashdot was the British English version and was not supposed to be released today. Office Response[^]
Found on Bash.org [erno] hm. I've lost a machine.. literally _lost_. it responds to ping, it works completely, I just can't figure out where in my apartment it is.

I found it real easy to find I crashed FF 2.0 and when I started it again I was prompted to begin a new session or restore the previous  I guess it could be useful...
Where did my glasses go...
really useful when I have to restart FF because I installed/un-installed an addon(a restart browser button appears in the addons window), or need to restart windows because of some stupid program.

Is it me, or does the spellchecker just highlight incorrect words and not give me any suggestions?
did you try right clicking the word? A few suggestions should appear on the top of the context menu.

Having used it for a day I find the close buttons on each tab instead of the single close button on the right of the tabs a problem because I keep closing the tab I'm trying to switch to
does not do away the problem, but might help. this removes the close button on non-active tabs. about:config browser.tabs.closeButtons 0 or install this extention No Tab Close Button[^] -- modified at 9:01 Tuesday 24th October, 2006 just set browser.tabs.closeButtons 2; though would have to use the middle click or ctrl+w to close tabs
