Ex-Officio Ruler he is. Also the Vatican is not recognised as a state in the UN, as the UN recognises the Holy See as the state and that is different from the Vatican. Also Immunity is only granted to crimes committed whilst in office. Also Immunity is not granted on Crimes Against Humanity, and Institutionalised Rape and Sexual Abuse is both a War Crime and a Crime Against Humanity and is therefore exempt from the immunity. Personally, I think he could be in trouble.

See Here[^] He does make a convincing point. The priesthood is not above the law, and the Sodomizing of children should not be made legal by dint of a dog-collar!

Good. The bastard should be rotting in prison like any other molestor. He's an accessory after the fact in multiple cases. It's time these bastards faced the law. Real law, not their imaginary bullshit.

When I've seen him interact with people, he is quick to call names, and avoids any real debate. I call him an asshole because of how he argues about it. That is why I think he is an asshole, not because of what he believes.

Taiwan isn't recognized by the UN either (thanks to Nixon).

I don't think there is anything saying he supported it while he was Pope, only before. So I don't think he is liable for it, as head of state.

That's the point, he smothered it before taking office, therefore he is responsible as a private individual, and therefore ihe is liable to prosecution.

He was in office. Just a different office. He is not liable while he is head of state. Because he did not do it as head of state. Talk about incentive to die in office!

At least three different occasions in the netscape forums between 05 and 07, I got to watch it live. I did not spend a whole lot of time there, but he was online 3-5 times while I was in that period. He cherry picked the stupids, but when someone smarter tried to pin him down, he would switch threads.

I didn't. From what I had seen on youtube, I thought I was going into a discussion with an intelligent, but not too polite*, guy. Just because I disagree with does not mean my mind is infested with worms. Both sides have proven it is a good bet to think they are, though. * not a put down, you can't be too polite in that line of argument.

"I guess we see what we want to see." I meant that I didn't see him as rude or anything like that: doesn't mean he wasn't; I just don't see taking a strong position and giving as good as you get rude. You are right, though, it's an impossible argument; much as I know I'm right, so do you (so to speak) and neither side will shift the other. Gets a bit pointless, really which is why, I suspect, it gets a bit 'hot-n-heavy' in a non-porn way. :-)
