Source: http://www.helles-koepfchen.de/[^] Sample 1: Inconsiderate Superpower When Germany has so much to thank the USA for - how is it then that so many Germans can't stand the leader of the United States? The answer is simple: It has to do with George W. Bush's politics, that many people see as very inconsiderate. Because he allowed the entire world feel that the USA is the only remaining superpower on earth after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. The previous President of the USA, Bill Clinton, also had a lot of power. But, unlike his successor, he did not show it so openly. Clinton wanted to solve the problems of the world together with as many nations as possible. George W. Bush, by contrast, really didn't care whether other nations agreed with his policies or not. He simply did what he wanted. In any case, he is the most powerful man in the world, and no one can do anything against his decisions. And he knows that too. That showed itself with great clarity during the Iraq War. ----- Sample 2: Violation of International Law Actually, only the most important committee of the United Nations, "the UN Security Council", can allow the attack on a nation. When the Security Council, however, does not grant permission and a nation still attacks another nation - then that is a violation on the part of the attacker against international law. And that is exactly what George W. Bush did in the Iraq war. Except for a few exceptions, all nations were upset by Bush's arbitrary and inconsiderate action. ----- Sample 3: (one of the links from their section on nations, which explains USA to kids)... They're actually teaching this crap to their kids? ------- sig starts "I've heard some drivers saying, 'We're going too fast here...'. Funny - reading the translations I immediately thought of the crapy misleading service of this guy[^] - guess what! Sample 1: So what? What's your (or Davids) Problem with that? Sample 2: -"- Sample 3: (1) this is a link to an external web site (heise.de), which is not publicly sponsored (2) at the bottom of the article you find enough feedback to put it into perspective (even if you don't like this either) Personal Note: If this link makes you unhappy, I'm glad I pay taxes for it.

C'mon, you sound like a Sony Lawyer. The link is neither very prominent, nor is the article linked to well suited for leading unsuspecting free kids into america hating. The contents sticks out from the others, and I wouldn't mind the link be gone, but what the Štih Gang makes out of it is a paranoia that would make McCartney proud.

He regulary links to it, but until now he gave away his sources. It's not that he copies of it (I think the cursive is indicator enough that he's quoting), but this David guy has a tendency to give his translations.. well, a tendency. (And for the record: I'm from an "ex-communist country", too ;) )

The problem is that you're dealing with Tomaž instead of the topic. Which is behaviour that is quite typical for the Karl-peterchen-Carson gang. Remember - the topic is if the "social truth" is really apropriate material for kids who don't have defense mechanisms against these manipulations?

Actually this problem is similar to religion in school. Socialism or extreme leftism is sort of secular religion, after all. We should have laws about the separation of state and leftist ideology.

Actually, I think Tomaž is very much the topic. We are given links to German-language web-sites and are supposed to accept that the selected excerpts offered in translation give a balanced indication of the content of those sites. I view that with a high level of scepticism. I might also remark that if we could see inside classrooms in Texas, the presentations we would observe concerning the role of the US in the world probably wouldn't be entirely unbiased. No, Germany is commieland and someone should invade it to free me of these evildoers.

Germany is not commieland and there are some very decent people there. For example, Paul Kirchof. Regardless of the fact that you don't like that - I do differentiate between Germans and kraut-socis. The latter are the enemy.

And, consequently, you should teach children this "fact" so that they "understand" the world "correctly"?

...but parts of the population are deeply anti-american and indoctrination of kids is one of the reasons for it.
