There's a swedish saying that goes something like this: "Do not throw rock if you live in a glass house". :)

It's international, but shouldn't the swedish version more sound like "hetering kommir granten kvädall"? The german version is "Wer im Glashaus sitzt soll nicht mit Steinen werfen" (Or, rather: Chwab Prost Achtung!")

Since you keep harping on this, could you please show me where I said that? Cheers, Vikram.

Cite? Evidence maybe? Or should we just accept what your saying as you think we should?

no i am not asking you believe me blindly,in similar soapbox, this issue was discussed by same kgaddy and i had given him references about how woman is abused in usa which includes honor killings as well,yo may search cp`s soapbox forum first and then google.

Why don't Muslim/Islamic leaders decry this practice with more vigor? Why don't you decry it when it does?

problem is that most of like majority you didnt read the source article ,.A.A alread highlited that even author is saying that honor killing is somethin which is culturual rather religious, such thing has nothing to do with religion anyway

But this begs a question, Why is it on the rise in the muslim CULTURE? I think, and this is just an opinion, that they way women are treated, which is very bad, in the muslim community that some take it too far and just decide to kill these women when they become angry. After all, they are 2nd class citizens. My mom told me once that "while we all don't speak the same language, everyone in the world undestands an asskicking"

Only the ones who travel... :sigh: I think the standard comment about Swedes in Austria is "Dumme Schweden", much thanks to the <repeat>ski-> drink</repeat> algorithm followed by my skiing fellow citizens.
