Shat or shitted
-
Sitting here at my desk I just overheard a work mate say "That thing shat me for ages". It remined me of a conversation I had with my girl friend a couple of days ago. She was telling me that the word 'shat' is a very Australian thing and not used a lot overseas. So what would you say.... "it shat me", "we shat all over them", "I just shat in cubicle 1", "the bloddy dog shat on the couch again" or "It gave me the shits", "we beat the shit out of them", "I just had/took a shit in cubicle 1", "the dog just shitted on the couch" I have taken a vow of poverty. If you want to really piss me off, send me money.

I've never heard anybody say either one. "If anything, the West is awash in an epidemic of self-hate crimes." "a civilization that feels guilty for everything it is and does will lack the energy and conviction to defend itself"

The former - The latter just doesn't sound right ColinMackay.net "Man who stand on hill with mouth open will wait long time for roast duck to drop in." -- Confucius "If a man empties his purse into his head, no man can take it away from him, for an investment in knowledge pays the best interest." -- Joseph E. Yeah, I didn't know though and thought that for some reason you had an impressive real name - the sort you'd expect in history books.

Oh ok - I think that's what she told me. I mixed that up with Arabic poetry - my fault again :-) Regards, Nish
