Actually, JySE.com is hardly a match to CP. The web is full of such sites. I moderate the C/C++ forum on one of these, and still spend more time on CP :-O I vote pro drink :beer:

I think the problem with it is the morals behind doing it. Its akin to walking in on a board meeting at Microsoft and say "hey everyone we're looking for a new ceo for our company, would anyone like to apply for the job?". I checked out the site and I was impressed at the wide range the site is going to cover; I also wish them the best luck in finding moderators; but advertising on what one could call a competitor is not kosher in my book. A while back Chris or David (Cunningham) mentioned that stuff like this is inevitable; because even though they should have purchased an ad to run on the site they probably couldn't afford to do it anyway. No real harm done, I wouldn't have done it; then again I have a hard time just saying whats on my mind without starting to think about the potential reaction and whether or not I should say it. I probably won't be visiting that site anyway. CP is the only place I am allowed to be me, in all my vulgar and audacious glory. I'm sure my style of humor or rants would not be welcomed in many places, or even tolerated like they are here. Nope. I have a tendancy to speak my mind, and Congress isn't interested in anyone that has a mind to speak with. I can see it now... Reporter: "So Congressman Simmons, what is your stand on the insanity defense?" Me: "I say screw 'em. They *must* be nuts if they think I'm gonna go along with that kinda horseshit. A bullet in the head is the only answer." Reporter: "How about amnesty for illegal aliens in this country?" Me: "I think one warnin gto leave the country, and if they ignore it, then a bullet in the head is appropriate." Reporter: "What about driving under the influence?"
