TO THE STREETS!!!! WE MUST BUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!! They do have a point about the ADL, though. By definition they're against free speech. They exist to prevent anybody from challenging any of their ideas and vehemently attack anybody who does. For example, on their home page they have a link to a story complaining about Christians existing at the Air Force Acadamy and not hiding the fact that they're Christians. I mean, come on...COME ON!

I was more interested in the cartoons, not the ADL. Good point though, free speech is free speech. My mom told me once that "while we all don't speak the same language, everyone in the world undestands an asskicking"

The last one is pretty clever. :) ------- sig starts "I've heard some drivers saying, 'We're going too fast here...'. If you're not here to race, go the hell home - don't come here and grumble about going too fast. Why don't you tie a kerosene rag around your ankles so the ants won't climb up and eat your candy ass..." - Dale Earnhardt "...the staggering layers of obscenity in your statement make it a work of art on so many levels." - Jason Jystad, 10/26/2001

Except that the cartoons are going to become the justification - like people need justification to hurt one another :sigh: Tom Archer (blog) Program Manager MSDN Online (Windows Vista and Visual C++) MICROSOFT

I don't mind the cartoons so much. I just seems very hypocritical. And it seems some in the Arab world want to start a war over the cartoons. My mom told me once that "while we all don't speak the same language, everyone in the world undestands an asskicking"

Am I meant to feel a strong emotional outburst as a result. The only one that raised any level of disgust was the kiddie fiddling Hitler cartoon - and that was not on religious grounds. I mostly found it odd that all the cartoons were anti-jewish whereas Denmark is a secular, but predominately Christian, country. In Scotland there are not so many jewish people around. Of all the people I know I can only think of one - A friend of mine when I was at school - and the thing I remember most about him was him asking if he could join me for lunch (I went home for lunch) so he could eat ham sandwiches - as he obviously wasn't allowed them at home. So, on the whole, not overly interested in his "faith". ColinMackay.net "Man who stand on hill with mouth open will wait long time for roast duck to drop in." -- Confucius "If a man empties his purse into his head, no man can take it away from him, for an investment in knowledge pays the best interest." -- Joseph E. That was Ann Frank, the little girl who died in a camp toward the end of WWII. Pretty damn sick. My mom told me once that "while we all don't speak the same language, everyone in the world undestands an asskicking"

Great, now they are stupid and hypocrites. They could've at least made sure the cartoons were funny. Oh, and of course, now we should go murder their people and burn down their buildings. Jeremy Falcon

It shows there is a great effort of education to do... What is also sad is that the only point retained from Nazi persecutions is the Holocaust. The other victims are not even recognized.

I think that depends on who you talk to. As a history buff, I know the Nazis killed gypsies, Homosexuals, and other "undesireables". But you are right that the Jewish killings get most of the attention, probably because if the sheer number, 6 million. What I find more interesting, is that Stalin killed more than Hitler. Stalin hated everyone. Why does Stalin not get as recognised as Hitler does as a mass murderer? My mom told me once that "while we all don't speak the same language, everyone in the world undestands an asskicking"

On a much longer period, and if Stalin had something similar to concentration camps, AFAIK there was no Auschwitz in USSR. Also don't forget that the West was very happy of Stalin's involvment in WW2, without USSR, Hitler would have won the war.

Actually, there was a lot a resistance to Roosevelt's cozing up to Stalin in the US. I read a book once that talked about how Roosevelt consitered Stalin as harmless. They used to call him "Uncle Joe". Patten, the US general from WWII said if he were between the Germans and Russians, he would order his men to fire on both.
