Okay, it wasn't funny the first time. Why don't you stop now before we get your IP address (which is a trivial thing to do) look you up here at www.arin.net. Do a recursive dig@ in Linux and report you to your ISP for internet abuse which is easy to do. This is something I really enjoy doing and will consider with your next abuse of this site. Have a nice day. :rose:

I am sure it is fun though when you get their IP. Am i the only one on CodeProject that you have done that to yet, or have you done that to other trolls/spammers?

The most fun I've ever had was catching an intruder on a network. Tracking that intruder back through some clever twists he took and then to his own WAN IP. After a few calls and emails the owner of the business calls and tells me it was an old employee that was stealing sales leads off the real estate server. What I enjoyed most about that was the process. I never really knew for sure if I'd be able to track the IP back to it's origin. I had to set a series of tools up and each tool required he visit one more time and then one more time and so on... It truly is amazing how much of an information trail you leave on the internet from the sites you visit. If you really want to be anonymous *DO NOT* create accounts on any type of message board or forum. Especially one that keeps really good logs that can go back and get historical data on IP addresses. All that aside it is fun. But not nearly so fun as writing an application for a planetarium that did constellations and things like that. Some time I'm going to pick your brain on something. I'd love to write something that would generate (using real lights) the constellations on a ceiling in my sons room. I have no ide if it's possible or not (hardware wise) but that would be fun. I can do the network entrapment stuff but programming is what I live for. Well programming, my wife, my kids and SUPER GOOD TACOS. - Rex

Writing the software for that kind of thing would be alot of fun, but making something with lights would be very hard, because you would need some way to focus the lights onto the ceiling using lenses. I could help you write software to draw the constellations, and you could use a projector like you would use for a powerpoint presentation to display it if you want, but the easiest thing would probably be to buy a pre-made constellation projector, like this: Space Theater Planetarium[^] But, i would be glad to help if you decide to make something. Sometimes making things like that can be alot more satisfying than buying pre-made ones.

Believe me, Pumpkinhead is serious when he says code-frog is serious when he says he will get your ip, even if you have a proxy. He himself was busted like that a few months back. :) PS: Pumpkinhead, to his credit, is now a reformed guy now. Cheers, Vikram.

Shouldn't you be deputized or something, you know, to make it legal to hunt down and kill the varmints? Marc Pensieve Functional Entanglement vs. Code Entanglement Static Classes Make For Rigid Architectures
