...how it ends..: From the song: "Alice? Who the f*** is Alice"? So Roger Wright was very close in his question  Philip Patrick "Two beer or not two beer?" (Shakesbeer) Web-site: www.saintopatrick.com

 These are the lyrics I have. It does not have the ending you suggested.

Smokie - Living Next Door To Alice Sally called when she got the word And she said "I suppose you've heard, 'bout Alice" Well I rushed to the window, and I looked outside But I could hardly believe my eyes As a big limousine rode up onto Alice's drive Chorus: Oh, I don't know why she's leaving, or where she's gonna go I guess she's got her reasons but I just don't wanna know 'Cos for 24 years I've been living next door to Alice 24 years just waitin' for a chance To tell her how I feel and maybe get a second glance Now I gotta get used to not living next door to Alice We grew up together, two kids in the park Carved out initials deep in the bark, me an' Alice Now she walks through the door, with her head held high Just for a moment I caught her eye As the big limousine pulled slowly out of Alice's drive (chorus) Then Sally called back, and asked how I felt And she said, "I know how to help, to get over Alice" She said, "Now Alice is gone, but I'm still here You know, I've been waiting 24 years..." And the big limousine disappeared I don't know why she's leaving, or where she's gonna go I guess she's got her reasons but I just don't wanna know 'Cos for 24 years I've been living next door to Alice 24 years just waitin' for a chance To tell her how I feel and maybe get a second glance But I'll never get used to not living next door to Alice No, I'll never get used to not living next door to Alice

Oh, I don't know why she's leaving, or where she's gonna go I guess she's got her reasons but I just don't wanna know 'Cos for 24 years I've been living next door to Alice 24 years just waitin' for a chance To tell her how I feel and maybe get a second glance Now I gotta get used to not living next door to Alice

Hmm, strange.. But you didn't hear the song? The chorus sounds like:

Oh, I don't know why she's leaving, or where she's gonna go
I guess she's got her reasons but I just don't wanna know
'Cos for 24 years I've been living next door to Alice
Alice? Who the f--- is Alice?

24 years just waitin' for a chance
To tell her how I feel and maybe get a second glance
Now I gotta get used to not living next door to Alice
Alice? Who the f--- is Alice?

That string a real chorus singing, like many people asking him, so who is that Alice? :) Philip Patrick "Two beer or not two beer?" (Shakesbeer) Web-site: www.saintopatrick.com

Anything more than that is bounced. 3.5 MB file will become 5 MB with base64 encoding :-( Otherwise kindly post me an HTTP link :-) Nish

There are two versions of the song. Nish, you have the original. A new version was released in the last few years that had the "Who the f!!! is Alice" in it. A seem to remember it was some kind of dance version. Roger Allen Sonork 100.10016 If I'm not breathing, I'm either dead or holding my breath. A fool jabbers, while a wise man listens. But is he so wise to listen to the fool?

The Original by Smokey doesn't have the "WTF is Alice". It's from a remake from around 1999.
