      Do you mean SQL Server authentication or Windows authentication? Be more specific in your request and provide a bit more information so we can help you. ...Steve 1. quod erat demonstrandum 2.         i want to use sql authentication.i created a new user account with sql mangement studio.but i can't connect using it with sql authentication. i use same username and password on my coding. getConnectionString_local = "Server=Z1\SQLEXPRESS;Database=" & DBPath & "test;User ID=amilapradeep;Password=amilapradeep;Trusted_Connection=False" it's this then it gives error as "Login failed for user 'amilapradeep'. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection." but i can connect using "attach db" method it's connecting

          ok i got the anwser.i had not specified as mix authentication on sql server, thanks
