It's Completely Out Of Hand

Cynical and hypocritical bull5hit. You, espier, shanon and falcon are neo-KKK racists. That's a evident fact for everyone who's been reading your posts about muslims and latinos. It's also evident in your biography[^]. Stop whinning about a particular irrelevant incident, stupid racist. Go dress a white hood and burn crosses with your friends. It is a little less pathetic. errr check your state laws. In lots of places if you shoot an unarmed intruder without first retreating you will be charged. And then you will also face a lawsuit by the perp or their family. Totally whacked country we live in. Well at least some states are fixing this stupidity

In Texas you will only have trouble if the dude lives. Shoot his sorry ass and make sure he has expired - make some coffee - call the cops and the newspaper - and relax. You have provided a public service. I assure you that if anyone breaks into my house and if I detect him he will be in a world of trouble. I am not one of those who expouses gun control and own several fire arms capable of making a thiefs day real bad. Remember that old saying: "Its better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6". I think I'd shoot first and get my story straight afterwards: someone comes in my house uninvited and looks like they may want to do some damage then I'd rather face court than risk being buried. Besides, that wasn't really my point: you took what I said too literally. You sure you're not my ex-wife??? home

Hmm! It all depends on which kind of beach you like. As you may know the town is in an island so we have more than 50 beaches to choose from, all in the 20 km range. In the west the waves are very small and the beaches are more suitable to families with children. In the east the waves are higher, it's windy, and the beaches are better for sports (surf, body-boarding, sailling, etc). The most expensive areas are in the north and center. The cheapest are in the south. If you want quietness it might be a better idea to find a place in the continent. The town is growing too fast. Believe me i own several firearms as well. I am also an instructor for my states CCW course. Just making sure some folks check their liabilty 1st before you face economic ruin. Glad my state is correcting the idiocy of being cleared of any criminal act and then the family of crack addict robber suing me for ridding the world of his scum arse for breaking into my house.

At which beach are you least likely to be murdered?

I read this : http://www.escapeartist.com/OREQ7/Florianopolis.html[^] and got the idea that I could find an apartment for US$30-40000. bookmarks You can ignore relatives but the neighbours live next doorStory does not matter if your state allows you to be civily charged even if you are cleared criminally. Many do that. You could be econmicly ruined defending yourself from one of these stupid lawsuits. Check into it to be safe. If they allow it push for the Floridal like "Stand your ground - Castle Doctrine". Pretty f*d up to be sued by the family of these scum because you took the life of their wonderful father / provider for the mere fact of breaking into your house and trying to harm you and steal your stuff. You mean person you. ;)

Yes, you can. But it will not be with a vista to the sea. If you want with a view to the beach, you'll likelly pay 60000 or more. Wouldn't that be safer? If you're right on the beach, some beachgoer might try to shoot you and steal your house.

Diego, I think I've said it before, but I've been to Brazil many time s and I absolutely love it. People, food, scenery; all top notch in my book. Along with Japan and Peru, Brazil is one of my favorite spots in the world to visit. I am just curious about how difficult it would be for a non-citizen like myself to purchase property in your country. Not that I have any plans, just curiosity. Although I have to admit, some of the prices for costal property being mentioned above make it mighty attractive. Hey don't worry, I can handle it. I took something. I can see things no one else can see. Why are you dressed like that? - Jack Burton

First it all depends on where. Foreigners are not allowed to own land close to national borders. There are also some regulations on land too close to sea or other natural resources (rivers and lakes, to avoid polution and erosion). Also there is a lot of disorganization in land registry in the rural and remotes areas, particularly in the northern rainforest. A lot of places have more than one owner because of corruption in land registry offices. In big towns ( more than 30 000 habitants) and in southern states the land registry is more strict so the dangers aren't that high. I don't know of any particular reason you'd be denied the right to own land in Brazil, as a non-citizen. Actually, I know that lots of farmers from US have been buying huge farms in central Brazil to produce soy and corn. They've been quite successfull. At last, I'd recommend you to have someone occupying your property (e.g.: a tenant) because there are lots of homeless people which might ocupy empty properties. It is usually a lot of work to remove them later. Patriotism is the willingness to kill and be killed for trivial reasons. Thanks for the reply, Sounds pretty reasonable. The issues with multiple claims to a parcel seem pretty common. Heck in the investor clubs that I participate in there is always a story about problems with land and property deeds here in the States.

Ha! I have a tenant in my old San Diego condo that I have been trying to get rid of for the last four months. My wife's family is from the Philippines and they also have some pretty 'funny' stories about evicting holdover tenants. Hey don't worry, I can handle it. I took something.
