    Typically, the british saying that the french are most boring and unfriendly nation. Britain will never get along with france, that's a fact so i'm not surprised the britisch say this. But I have my questions about that. France isn't that boring. Rude they are, that's a fact and selfish to. Worst food goes to Britain itself i think (but that's something they will not say off course).

    Yeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing. I mean...boiled meat? Come on!

      "The French have been voted the world's most unfriendly nation by a landslide in a new British poll published. They were also voted the most boring and most ungenerous." link[^] The US was voted as having the worst style and food. While I agree that France is rude and boring (something that is self-evident to any reasonable and mature person) and that the US lacks style, I think I disagree with the food part. Overall typical and popular restaurants like Applebee's, Chile's and The Olive Garden suck, but there are some pretty awesome restaurants as well.

        American cuisine can hardly compare to say Italian or French, but Brits are not really in a position to criticize it. At least Americans have New England clam chowder :)

        American cuisine generally sucks (with some very notable exceptions like cajun and creole...which is derived from french cuisine), but America has some excellent restaurants with an international influence.

          French people are rude ? f**k off! ;P :rolleyes: Seriously, the only thing that is self-evident is that such predjudiced statements simply do not make sense. What is like an "unfriendly nation" ? Putting such labels on whole groups or nation is rather dangerous, it is the kind of stuff that leads a bunch of people to concentration camps, every now and then in the History. ~RaGE();

            You've got to take the average rather than the best of, to be honest. The US has some fantastic food, but what's the popular opinion of 90% of the diet of 90% of Americans? Burgers, fries, pizza. Britain, too. The average British family eats almost entirely junk food, but the UK has some of the best restaurants in the world. Take The Fat Duck, for example - voted the world's best restaurant in 2005, and second best in 2006 (to Spain's El Bulli).

                      you got a point there, but i'm talking about normal food, cause the fast food in britain will be the same as the fast food in the us and in any other country, so they are all as bad tasting. But i'm talking about the somewhat "traditional" food. What some people eat for breakfast in Britain is a nightmare for me. Okay there are a lot of people that eat fast food for breakfast but i'm not counting that as food here, that's garbage X| )

                            No shit, ever seen a french group at a bar? All sullen faces discussing politics. I went skiing with my colleagues (some French, some Irish and US). While we (the Irish and American and I) were at the bar making coctails for everyone, getting drunk and dancing, our French colleagues started playing cards. Says it all. As for rude, on the road yes, they are however very polite face to face. Even if a shaven headed, shell suit wearing spack-head 16 year old bumps into you on the street he will apologise! You wont get that in the UK! Nunc est bibendum

                              Beans are a hideous addition - unless you want everything on the plate tasting of vile bean juice. Hash browns are a modern US import - we've got McDonalds to thank for that.

                                      Worst food goes to Britain itself i think (but that's something they will not say off course).

                                      Did you actually read the article? Comically, the British did not appear in the top or bottom 10. We are delightfully average. I might ask the same of you. The only reference to 4% is in the following: "And to our shame, four percent of respondents -- all British of course -- said they would only talk to other Britons when they are abroad." No shit, ever seen a french group at a bar? All sullen faces discussing politics. I went skiing with my colleagues (some French, some Irish and US). While we (the Irish and American and I) were at the bar making coctails for everyone, getting drunk and dancing, our French colleagues started playing cards. Says it all. As for rude, on the road yes, they are however very polite face to face. Even if a shaven headed, shell suit wearing spack-head 16 year old bumps into you on the street he will apologise! You wont get that in the UK! Nunc est bibendum
