Pumpkin, you're an idiot. Blaming the sectarian violence in Iraq on the religion of Islam is like blaming the decades of violence in northern Ireland squarely on Christianity. It's not religion that's causing this violence - it's the history of persecution and tension between segments of the population. Now Saddam isn't around the Shiites want political control, and they have Iran behind them. The Sunni parties have concluded that that probably won't be a good thing... That coupled with very deliberate attacks on social (schools, hospitals, markets) and religious (mosques) only fuel the tensions.

There are two types of people who use the Internet: i) those who seek to learn from the hundreds of people from different countries, cultures, races and their collective experiences that are brought together through a common medium and activity, and ii) those who seek to flatter their ego by believing they are better than the sum of those people. The flip side of 'treat people how you would like to be treated' is that you will be treated how you treat other people. Therefore, don't assume that I give a damn what you say or how you feel about it. I would guess that most people who visit here are the first type of person, given the topic and nature of this web site. Past interactions with you however have shown very clearly that you are a number two. I want you to prove me wrong, really.

Who is it that is wasting time here? It is almost 5am on a Sunday morning and I've been working on single rate for the last nine hours - I'm visiting here for some R&R, which I feel is more than deserved. When you've got a stick with a carrot on it why not go fishing?

How do the reporters know thats why they were killed [they don't leave there heavily gaurded hotels]? My guess is that some police/interior spokesman said it. They ['security' services] can't tell why 10's of people are tortured/killed in the capitol a day. They don't know when the occupation kills civilians [it takes a picture from a local reporter who braves his way to an incident that happens nearby to bring it to light]. Contrary to what W tells you, Iraq's security situations is becoming worse by the hour.

The imported militias/criminals have a real strong presence and have been one of the driving force behind the chaos felt by the common Iraqi. That much I don't know. I have seen two reports of this incident and neither goes into detail about the content of the leaflets. It seems to be implied that the leaflets made threats, but I can't say for sure. There is a history of dress-code enforcement in that area (Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Iran, ...). The recent clothing voted on by the Iranian parliment (which doesn't seem to include special colors for religious minorities, but does include dress-codes for Muslims) is one example.
