sad about "unedited reader contribution"
-
hello code project members, i am very sad about the time it takes to make an unedited reader contribution to an checked one - i saw unedited articles from year 2003 !!! i do not think that it keeps people motivated to post new articles if they are never checked :( what do you think about this ?

Typically, if an article that old is not edited, it's probably because the editorial panel has deemed it to be not-good-enough for publishing as an edited article. The author can update his article and try and improve it, and then an editor would take a second look at the article. Note, there are exceptions too - so if a good article is not edited after a good while, the author should contact submit@codeproject and make a request. Regards, Nish

Personally, I think you have to look at it from the audience's perspective. A lot of people are not really hobbyist programmers or doing this for the fun of it. They're trying to do their jobs. Which means they need quick answers. If your article/source code doesn't give them what they need, they merely go to the next item in their Google search. The kind of people that usually leave comments are people that hang around on CP all day, people who hate your code, and people who love your code. :)

In addition to Nish's response, the article's author may have requested it remain in the unedited section until further notice. In any case, an article can be found by search engines regardless of what section it is in.

For the answer to that question check out the "Plain English Compiler". Before you ask what this has to do with your question, I will tell you. I just answered your question in a way you didn't expect.
