      A real leader like bush? Yeah - what have we been doing for so long! I bow my head in humbled pacified shame... ;P "He who only hopes is forced to spend his life in the dark"

          s'pose i just assumed... what with there being 'no leaders' over here and since your (generic american 'your') government is doing such a BANG up job (pun intended) on that side of the pond i just assumed that the previous posts had a sub text of 'coz we got the right idea' to them - maybe im wrong... Or maybe your a dirty leftist like the rest of us behind-the-times socialist europians and bush really is a 'man of the world'... Ian "He who only hopes is forced to spend his life in the dark"

            Marc is about as anti-Bush as anyone here.

            Nope - I'm a fiscally conservative, atheist, non-card carrying Libertarian. My ideal US foreign policy would lean towards isolationism. Not exactly Bush's favorite sort. :-O "The trouble with jogging is that the ice falls out of your glass." - Martin Mull

              Just another good reason not to fly to or through France. Government mandated charity is not charity at all.

                A new tax has come into effect on all flights leaving France, with money going to humanitarian projects in developing countries...The levy is one euro on short haul flights in Europe[^] It will probably cost more to collect. Anyway, isnt this just typical of European politicians dicking around and not really taking on the fundamentaly problems and making a real change. I'm no Thatcherite, she was a bitch, but she had such a hugh impact on Britains fundamental problems that her presence is still felt 10 years after she left office, and is likely to colour British politics for the next 100 years. When oh when is Europe going to get a leader who has the balls (or ovaries) to get the fucking job done rather than just dicking around like this twat Chirac? Sarkozy? He is a nasty looking cunt. I doubt this. Number of flight * 1 euro = direct tax to the company.

                This may be true, but should not influence his political abilities. AFAICR, Thatcher never won any beauty contest. Oh, and I am not for Sarkozy neither. ~RaGE();

                  Another thread just to discuss one project which was to tax transactions in every stock exchange by 0,01%. I think this is a real way to get huge amount of money from people who do have lots of monex easily. Collect will be easy, just add another tay to something that is taxed anyway. ~RaGE();

                    You really need to ask yourself this: If Bush is the one that got elected TWICE, what does that say about the quality of the other candidates that they couldn't get a landslide win? :(( Mike Poz
