Many of us may take it as a very brave step by Israel, but believe me I have seen pictures where those innocent children are burnt to death in those attacks.. just horrible. That part of arabs dont have those kind of weapons to defend. Its not a equal war. Israel is acting as a big devil here. It will fuel the fire of anger among arabs. Violence will never stop. All people in that area are hot minded.. (probably eat lot of non veg food) forget peace. I think World war will start from this area only and will fuck us all and this earth.

Just cause the Hezbollah are poor shots doesn't mean they do not pose a very real threat. Take this into consideration the next time you want to call the better fighter the aggressor: Over the past two weeks, the guerrillas have fired 1,436 rockets into Israel. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14021722/[^] Btw, your lament for the victims of this "CONFLICT" sound more like that of the Arab thief who cries out, "Look what they have done to my hand!". -- modified at 1:47 Thursday 27th July, 2006

It seems to me that on both sides there's going to be plenty of fodder for tabloid news stories, plenty of needless death of innocents. No matter which way you look at it, dead is dead, and it's tragic that it must always come to this. Both sides are to blame.

There are wrong on both sides but yes, Israel is going too far. I waited to see if anyone would mention the delibrate targetting of a UN observation post despite the people in the post calling israeli commanders 10 times about the IDF targetting them. Then a jet came over and dropped one laser guided bomb right on them. There were no other targets near.

It is 'cause not cause. You have to use an apostrophe when abreviating. In any case, 'cos is far better. 1,436 shitty chineese rockets are obviously not the equal of god knows how much US ordance the IDF has used then. And your point was?

In the UN's own report, they mention repeated Hezbollah firing repeatedly from that position (among others). A Canadian general has been interviewed saying that one of the soldiers there had been complaining about Hezbollah using his position: "We received emails from him a few days ago, and he was describing the fact that he was taking fire within, in one case, three meters of his position for tactical necessity, not being targeted. Now that’s veiled speech in the military. What he was telling us was Hezbollah soldiers were all over his position and the IDF were targeting them. And that’s a favorite trick by people who don’t have representation in the UN. They use the UN as shields knowing that they can’t be punished for it." There's lots of evidence for Hezbollah using UN positions with impunity for several years. I'd wait a while before leaping to judgement.. From UNFIL's own press release, handily ignored by most of the UK media: "Another UN position of the Ghanaian battalion in the area of Marwahin in the western sector was also directly hit by one mortar round from the Hezbollah side last night. The round did not explode, and there were no casualties or material damage. Another 5 incidents of firing close to UN positions from the Israeli side were reported yesterday. It was also reported that Hezbollah fired from the vicinity of four UN positions at Alma ash Shab, Tibnin, Brashit, and At Tiri. All UNIFIL positions remain occupied and maintained by the troops." -- modified at 5:40 Thursday 27th July, 2006

Do you mean the one you posted yesterday on combining two bitmaps ? I'd be inclined just to create a third bitmap that's the correct size and draw the first two onto it. Do you need help with how to do that ? Anyhow, that's the only question I could see, so if you want an answer in code, LMK, but of the two approachs that were suggested, that's what I would do. Trying to copy the byte data of two bitmaps is a major PITA, and basically a dumb idea. BTW, your email address is unconfirmed, so I could not email you through the site.

Of course it's horrible, but when are you going to wake up and realise it's not a simple war with two sides, it's a war waged by proxy, waged by the USA. Man is the only Patriot. He sets himself apart in his own country, under his own flag, and sneers at the other nations, and keeps multitudinous uniformed assassins on hand at heavy expense to grab slices of other people's countries, and keep them from grabbing slices of his. And in the intervals between campaigns he washes the blood off his hands and works for "the universal brotherhood of man"- with his mouth. - "The Lowest Animal" Mark Twian

Yeah, that's the one. Code would be nice if you have it handy (okay, I admit it - I'm lazy). :) Once I get it worked out, I'll turn this request into an article because I'm doing it for a program that uses Chris' Grid Control.

Actually, the UN said that there were 9 UN posts bombed and in some cases, repeatedly.

I'd be inclined just to create a third bitmap that's the correct size and draw the first two onto it. Do you need help with how to do that ? I posted a new thread in the VC++/MFC forum with code that doesn't appear to work.

Everyone knows why they were bombed, it was because the terrorist were using UN positions as cover. The UN did nothing to stop them. "Retired Canadian Major General Lewis Mackenzie was interviewed on CBC radio, and had some very interesting news about the UN observer post hit by Israeli shells; the Canadian peacekeeper killed there had previously emailed Mackenzie telling him that Hizballah was using their post as cover." "We received emails from him a few days ago, and he was describing the fact that he was taking fire within, in one case, three meters of his position for tactical necessity, not being targeted. Now that’s veiled speech in the military. What he was telling us was Hezbollah soldiers were all over his position and the IDF were targeting them. And that’s a favorite trick by people who don’t have representation in the UN. They use the UN as shields knowing that they can’t be punished for it." http://blogs.news.com.au/heraldsun/andrewbolt/index.php/heraldsun/comments/why_the_un_post_was_bombed/
