Macgrath should be banned from International Cricket due to illegal bowling action.

I really doubt that. No one got any evidence to support Hair, and both umpires and match refree did not followed rules.

I don't know much about Ghauri, but Dar is certainly a very good umpire. One of the best.

          Cheers, Vikram.

I have as much proof as you do. Either way, everyone I know who knows more about cricket than I do ( which is pretty much everyone ) agrees that Pakistan are at fault here, if they felt they didn't cheat, they should have played on and lodged an appeal. If they didn't cheat, they sure chose the route of action that makes them look guilty.

The people who ignored the rules and threw a fit is the Pakistani team. If they were in the right, they should have pursued the fact through proper channels, not stormed off like 5 year old girls.

atleast I agree that method of protest was pretty childish and emotional and game shudnt have stopped but accusation of ball tempering without any proof and pointing out actual culprit is as pathetic and lame as WMD's presence in Iraq.

When supposed ball tampering is discovered, the umpires need to consult with the 2 captains. Hair went and skipped that step.

The Pak team did forfeit the match, but I think Hair's actions need to be investigated. He may not be mentally stable enough to umpire in ICC matches. And likes to go against the tide - kinda likes controversy I suppose :-) I am also sure the ICC won't like it if other umpires decide to penalize teams for 5 runs every time they see the ball in a slightly odd shape (there are a 1000 reasons other than ball tampering when a ball'd go out of shape). Hair's too impulsive to be a top-class ICC umpire.

                          Regards, Nish
