Gay sheep are nothing new - just wander round on the moors in the breeding season and you'll see plenty of rams with ink spots on them. Sometimes from two or three different rams. What I think needs studying is how some of them get it all over their faces - do rams give blowjobs?

My God David! The significance of all that intermingled raddle had never occurred to me! So you're in favour of all this pastoral debauchery then? Sometimes it seems a shame for those pure primary colours from the shelves of Mole Valley Farmers to end up a mixed-up muddy brown. Still, who are we to judge I suppose.

What a pack of morons. "These experiments also carry the insidious implication that homosexuality in humans needs to be “cured.”" No, they would go a long way to helping us to understand homosexuality. I don't see how it follows that we're going to round up all gays and 'cure' them. Perhaps the author is scared that it will be possible to define the cause of homosexuality and perhaps even reverse it ? Either way, sheep are apparently the only animals that can be gay. That is, monkeys may have 'prison sex', but there are rams which actually won't show any interest in a ewe in heat, but look for other males to get it on with. I've been told this by a sheep farmer, I dunno, we only ever have one ram, excepting lambs ( 7 this year and 6 male !!! ), and their mounting each other could well just be youthful exhuberance.

I concur that animals should not be subjected to experiments for non-essential research and this might meet that criteria. However, I fail to see why understanding homosexuality should be off limits for science. I mean, if there are people in the world born in the wrong body (sexual speaking) than why is it so ludicrous to believe that there are heterosexuals born in homosexual bodies, and vice versa. Shouldn't science investigate possible ways of freeing them from their cruel situation?

            Thank God for disproportional force.

Which leads me neatly on to my new website concept. I can't seem to make much money from breeding and butchering my livestock so I'm wondering if there might be an opportunity for them as internet porn stars. The format would be basically the same as your average smut site but it would feature my farm animals instead of the usual suspects. The front page could have a picture of a nice friesian heiffer, discretely made modest by a carefully positioned hedge and a big button labelled "see me naked inside". The possibilities are endless and there are as far as I know no legal; restricions on the graphic and explicit depiction of farm animals of any species, breed, age and from any angle in any country. I've thought of the following categories: Outdoor sex scenes Udders to die for Young bulling heifers ready and willing to please Bull on bull cow on cow Under 30 months Inter breed Inter species Reader's ewes All I need is the web hosting company a desingner and someone to sort out the e commerce.

I've long suspected that I am a lesbian in a man's body. Fortunatly the misses is a raging queen in a woman's body, so it all seems to work ok. I suppose we should just make do with what we have got.

Check the web site, once I've got it on line. Leave two bulls in a shed and one of them always comes off worse.

Whatever the sexual preference of individuals it is their business, not mine or anybody elses. I find it difficult to justify why science would want to establish any psychological reasons for this. I feel that science should not poke around with things that is none of it's business. You call it a cruel situation, I suspect that many would disagree as they may be very content with their situation. Anyhow, as I recall Freud had something to say about homosexualality.

I choose to ignore the more disturbing aspects of this post. Does this mean you're a farmer who codes for fun ? PJ has a chook farm, so you're not alone if this is the case. I have a hobby farm, I have chooks and sheep. I've kept pigs for slaughter, but we breed our sheep. I'd love to have cows ( mmmm - sirloin ), but my wife is dead set against it.

No I'm a coder who farms for fun. We have a few sheep and about twenty Devons. Beautiful animals although we are just about to send quite a few off.

Are you saying that it is absolutely impossible for a homosexual to ever want to change? If it turns out to be a simple hormone treatment or some kind of complex gene therapy why not give those who wish to have it access to it? If a parent found out that their child carried a gene predisposing them to homosexuality, why should they not have any possible treatments for it made available to them? I don't see the harm in that. To do otherwise would be to bend science to your political agenda.

                                        Thank God for disproportional force.

No, the point is that sheep ( I am told ) are the only animals that are *gay*. Lots of animals 'practice', that's what I meant by 'prison sex', gay sex because there are no chicks about. But, some sheep will ignore the ewes even if they are there. Or are you saying bulls do the same, that's not how I interpret the word 'practice'.
