Might help if you can tell us what the problem is. What I have done in the past is to upload the file, then read it using OLE DB.

Launch Excel 2003 then open the workbook file you'd like to upload. Choose from the menu File-->Save as Web Page. Then using IE7(or IE6 if you want) direct your browser to the ftp://your_ftp_addy . Drag the Excel file that you have saved as a web page from your machine directory to the web directory of your choice. The rest is simple...or should be intuitive.
