Over fishing isn't the only problem coming up. If warming continues, there will be an upset in the oxygen balance in the oceans and an up welling of hydrogen sulfide which will cause all sorts of other problems.

Cod is already nearing extinction in the seas near Sweden. I also love how the fisher men whine about not being allowed to fish more. Total morons. If the fish are extinct, then what are they going to do?

You hear the same song by the loggers in Oregon. Let's cut down all the old growth forests because we need jobs. But in a few years, they'll all be gone to never return.

One does not have to be a rocket surgeon to see that coming. If you deplete a stock faster then it can replenish itself you are going to eventually run out. It was done in with the North American bison, it use to thought there were so many they would never run out until one day there were only a couple hundred left. And that was with a species we can see. Can you imagine how bad it is with a species that we can not see? If you spend your money faster than you earn it, what happens? you go broke that's what. Some day all the scientists and all the people who belive in exploiting the oceans will learn this most basic of lessons. I just hope it is not too late by the time they do.

No, I did not mistype that, I meant "rocket surgeon". A while back the weather man on TV got his metaphors mixed up. I do not know whether he meant to say "It's not rocket science" or "It's not brain surgery" but he ended up saying "It's not rocket surgery". I found it so funny that I have been using that expression "rocket surgery" ever since.

Kind of makes you wonder how ocean life survived the end of the last ice age. Or all the ones before that for that matter.

                            Thank God for disproportional force.
