Captain See SharpIt must be bushes fault as most of you would say, but the interesting thing is that the terrorist planned this before the 9/11 attacks so you cant blame the president for it.

Sadly, most would still argue that! :|

Captain See SharpIn fact after 9/11 he shelved his plans, maybe because he realized that Americans would not tolerate such actions and would eliminate the terrorists.

That's right! Don't mess with America!!

Yeah! Hopefully America wont be lost to these people and the other non-patriotic so called Americans. Its like people are brainwashed into believing that we shouldn't have freedom or the right to defend our selves and our country.

What will they do when they lose their freedom to these kind of people?

Dhiren Barot, a 34-year-old Muslim convert from north London, led a conspiracy to commit mass
murder and achieve, in his own words, "another black day for the enemies of Islam and a victory for the
        Muslims".

Many people dont blame the president they blame the foreign policy of your current and previous governments and their allies. There is a difference between the head of state and the administration.

Unfortunately I don't believe that the majority of people would put up a fight. Lets hope I am wrong. Governments collapse and people create new or are assimilated into new civilizations and evolve. The Roman Empire was the biggest, most powerful, and technologically advanced civilization for its time but it eventually disintegrated. I doubt that America is going to disintegrate in our lifetime. People will want to live the way they want to live and if they lived under an oppressive law for some time then they will realize that it is no way to live.

What a naive statement. No sane person claims that terrorism didn’t exist before 9/11; just that America’s hasty response -- especially the war in Iraq –- has increased the risk of terrorist attacks on a global scale. Before you argue with this point (assuming you’re going to) think back to the recent National Intelligence Estimate report with says just that. No sane person thinks Bush invented terrorism; just that his actions have made things worse, not better. Get some perspective. Your argument is a classic example of an attempt to set up a straw man[^].

And lets hope it stays that way... It's a little too early to be claiming victory on this score however.
