What's your point? Did you miss a homework assingment because no one would respond to your URGENT need? Move it to the SB or lounge (as Colin did)

I had an urgent need last night, but I made it to the bathroom before it transitioned to a full-on emergency.

How about clueless people that don't do their own homework, and believe that everyone should do their homework for them.

No harm in asking. No one is going to kick you or punch you in the face.

Most people post because they (1) Don't know enough about the technology to get the right answer out of google, (2) Are too lazy to use google (3) Are trying to get someone to do their homework for them (4) .... Asking in a forum is not guarantee of an answer, let alone a fast one.

Yes, there is freedom of speech, and with those freedoms come the right to ask for what every you want. For example: I want a luxury penthouse apartment with a view of the river. Will you give it to me? It is urgent!

          chravisankar wrote:

Only because of a severe lack of planning. Most of the time I see "urgent" posts it is because the person didn't plan what they were doing. I'm about to embark on some ASP.NET development work involving Master and Content pages in ASP.NET 2.0. I've done ASP.NET before, but this is my first ASP.NET 2.0 project. I am therefore researching what I can and cannot do with this new technology. That way I don't end up making stupid assumptions and code myself into a corner which then requires "urgent" assistance to get out of again.

Actually, there is. When I see someone posting "urgent" or similar I often ignore it at first. My experience is that those posts are usually incoherent as well. They don't provide enough information and when they do you can see they've coded themselves into a corner and can't get out without destroying a lot of the work they have done already. I hate clearing up other people's messes and it means that I, personally, am less likely to respond. I'd imagine that there are other people like me also. So, in summary, please do not mark p

One more thing to add. While I'm not, a number of people here are consultants, and if you really truely need urgent assistance, you may be able to buy it from them for their standard hourly rate.:laugh:

And I have every right to give a slow, delayed response to "urgent." Not everyone on this site is going to quickly drop what they are doing and help just because you have an "urgent" need.

I have one for you. Penthouse apartment, beautiful view[^] It's multi-room, semi-southern exposure, built in ladder to the loft (ladder doesn't need maintenance as it is carved stone). Loft has a view of the lake too. It's a six bedroom, and a larger room for entertaining or various ceremonies you might need (kids graduation, celebrating sports win, corn's tall this year, etc.). It's a bit dated, so I can give it to you real cheap. ;P

I am guessing that he thinks people pick on Indians for posting urgent posts. He's wrong, I've seen plenty of non-Indian posters do the same. It is NOT a race issue in my opinion, but an issue of rudeness...

That's okay then - I was wondering what the nationality of the poster had to do with anything.

even if some one is in hurry or wants answer instantaneously, there is no harm.it is his need.if he has time why would he ask in a forum.he has every right to ask for an urgent response.nobody will ask urgent unless it is really so.there is no question of decreasing the willingness to answer.
