            Of course, if you look hard enough at many great epics, you can extrapolate what you like, particularly if you have academic kudos behind you. Or even if you don't have kudos, apparently.

                Yeah, when I read the books, I didn't see anything racial at all, more spec-ial. Of course, I was only 12 when I read them...

                          Yup. The one thing Tolkien tried to get into the heads of all the idiot "analysts" was that the Lord of the Rings was not an allegory for anything. I think it even says that in the preface.
