Famous 70s Rock Stars Sue Over ‘Stolen’ Memorabilia[^] "True rock legends from the 70s such as Led Zeppelin, The Doors and Grateful Dead Productions filed a lawsuit against the owner of a memorabilia website accusing him of selling some stuff related to them without asking permission." Seems a bit weak to me. I think everybody who ever did drugs at one of their concerts should sue them for damages because their music, concerts and lifestyle promoted drug use.

In all fairness, the memorabilia website owner is using their names... By the way, would you mind if I set up a Mike Mullikin memorabilia website? :-D

So, in a nutshell, a guy in the industry collected some of the "free" items (posters, t-shirts, etc) over a period of 30 years. They were bought after he died and the guy who bought them is now selling them? That isn't really any different than selling old movie posters. The complaint is rather stupid if you ask me.

If you decide to become a software engineer, you are signing up to have a 1/2" piece of silicon tell you exactly how stupid you really are for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week Zac

If you buy my memorabilia for US$5 million, you can do anything you'd like with it as far as I'm concerned. :-> ;)

Deal! ;P As for the site... I like basic subtle tones with a clean modern look. Think 'Google' during the design phase. Oh... I hate those annoying Flash intro screens too. Ads should be tasteful with no pop-ups. Lets keep it family friendly for the time being. Once we're billionaires and the site traffic slows we'll add the pron to spike sales just before we shut it down and retire to Jamaica. Don't forget to bring your national bikini team with you.

I hope they lose this one. If Sagan is reproducing the items for sale, then he should be paying royalties, but to sell a t-shirt that was given out at the concerts seems fair to me. The bands were compensated for their images at that time.
