I just received this warning via email. I said I'd better warn my fellow CPians :)
Police warn all clubbers, party-goers and
unsuspecting pub regulars to be
alert and
stay cautious when offered a drink from any woman. A
new date rape drug is
on
the market called "beer" is used by many
females to target unsuspecting men. The drug is
generally found in liquid
form and is now available almost anywhere. "Beer"
is being used by female
sexual predators at parties and bars to persuade
their male victims to go
home and have sex with them.Typically, a woman needs only to persuade a guy to
consume a few units of
"beer" and then simply ask him home for
no-strings-attached sex. Men are
rendered helpless against this approach. After
several "beers" men will
often succumb to desires to perform sexual acts on
horrific looking women
to whom they would never normally be attracted.
After drinking "beer" men
often awaken with only hazy memories of exactly
what happened to them the
night before, often with just a vague feeling that
something bad occurred.At other times these unfortunate men are swindled
out of their life's
savings in a familiar scam known as "a
relationship" or worse even
"marriage". Apparently, men are much more
susceptible to this scam after
"beer" is administered and sex is offered by the
predatory female.lease! Forward this warning to every male you
know. However, if you fall
victim to this insidious "beer" and the predatory
women administering it,
there are male support groups with venues in every
town where you can
discuss the details of your shocking encounter in
an open and frank manner
with similarly affected, like minded guys.For the support group nearest you, just look up
"Golf Courses" in the
yellow pages

I appreciate the warning, Brian. Happily, though, I have been a victim more than once. Being a procrastinator I have decided to put off for a while seeking a support group. Maybe next year.:-D

And, I do mean never! Also, make yourself standout in a crowd (in a good way that is). You'll want a chick to notice you before you talk to her. Or, you may get lucky and have the chick come up to you and start talking. And, girls won't appreciate complements unless they seem sincere. So, don't start off with a bunch of those. Spread complements about her throughout the conversation that you can get from the conversation. Practice makes perfect! I've been shotdown many times, and I'll probably be rejected in the future. But, I learn from my mistakes. And remember, some people just aren't compatible. It's a hit and miss game, but eventually you'll get to bring some of them home or at least get a number. :) Jeremy L. 1. Always be yourself. Plain and simple. In the end, the person will either like you or not. No point in pretending your someone your not.

Really crappy pick up lines are good ice breakers, especially if you make it *CLEAR* that you're not really using the line to pick them up. The rest of the advice seems good. Another good piece of advice - don't act nervous. Girls can sense it. If you're obviously not comfortable, they'll pick up on it and turn away. Act confident... don't act like a jerk though. Really crappy pick up lines are good ice breakers, especially if you make it *CLEAR* that you're not really using the line to pick them up. The rest of the advice seems good. Another good piece of advice - don't act nervous. Girls can sense it. If you're obviously not comfortable, they'll pick up on it and turn away. Act confident... don't act like a jerk though. However, bouncing back from a crappy pick-up line isn't easy if things went sour because you only get one chance to make a first impression. And if he's getting into the swing of things, IMO it's best to avoid them. Don't take my word for it - ask women. Pick-up lines aren't that popular. Girls get hit on more than guys and lines get old. Even if a girl is attracted, a lot of times they still wait for the guy to make the move, unless she happens to be an outgoing type. Thus, a lot of girls try to get picked-up on. But, if you can pull it off, great! I believe it's best to be original and/or casual when breaking the ice. But, if both parties are really interested, then they'll find reasons to keep talking to one another. Maybe your friend got lucky and his humorous method in which he said it appealed to her.
