Without global warming, that'd have been -20F, 15 inches of snow, and you'd not have had power and thus would have been unable to post this message

One problem with the whole climate change debate is that whenever there's a particularly warm day, you hear people muttering about global warming, and when it's cold, peope joke about how there's no such thing. I'm not sure what your statement is for, I presume it's a joke, because the people who do say stuff like that generally are pretty dumb, and I know that you're not.

El Nino is responsible for all the snow this year. I planned skiing in Arizona because of it.

yep. I'm just not overly concerned. My own personal opinion is, yes we have climate change taking place but I'm not sure it is problematic, except to those inconvenienced by it, because it has happened before and will happen again.

Global warming is just a bunch of overly hyped BS. Its just a way to get you to hand over your wallet in the name of the polar bears and the future children of the world who wont be able to chase butterflies in tall grassy fields if we don't pay up. I won't fall for it and I don't care what people tell me. I won't believe it until I experience warm(60F) rainy days in February for more than one year. Right now its much colder than the average temperature and it snowing like crazy like a normal winter day.

Its been unusually cool here as well this summer but to imply that weather in any single specific location is representative of the overall climate is foolish I think.

Yeah, I'd categorise droughts that never end as inconvenient. "it's not happening to me so who cares". Brilliant attitude. If you're attitude was "it's not yet happening to me and if it does then there's nothing I can do about it because I think it's a natural occurance and not something we can control and we are, and always will be, at the whim of nature and we should just get over it and do our best to adapt"...then I'd have more respect.

                                cheers, Chris Maunder

I won't believe it until I experience warm(60F) rainy days in February for more than one year

I've heard the saying "a month of Sundays", but I have never heard of a year of Februarys. :suss:

No, common sense. I will not be a victim of political manipulation. Whether or not the earth's temperature rose by a few degrees or not. Its not an inferno, not until the nukes go off.

Its been unusually cool here as well this summer but to imply that weather in any single specific location is representative of the overall climate is foolish I think.

Why? Its called GLOBAL warming, not regional warming.

And thats exactly why saying "well...its not warm where I am right now" is stupid.

I meant to say IN tall grassy fields. Its just what I imagine when people say "its for the children" or bring children into a political subject. Oh its for the children. Oh ok I will do anything for the children, I don't want to be viewed as a scumbag for not helping the children. Ok we will need your wallet and freedoms and whatever else you have. Oh yes, whatever you say as long as its for the children and polar bears.
