No, common sense. I will not be a victim of political manipulation. Whether or not the earth's temperature rose by a few degrees or not. Its not an inferno, not until the nukes go off.

But that 'few degrees' is having effects that we can see with our own eyes--the polar ice caps are definately shrinking (yes, I'm referring to polar bears). Wouldn't it be better to err on the side of caution and say, yes we might be causing this so let's get our act together before things get too bad to reverse.

They will tax fuels so high that it would raise the price of all goods and severely limit your driving. They would also pass laws that make it illegal to have wood burning fireplaces, grills, campfires, gas lawnmowers and snowblowers ....

Yes, and that should be accomplished with more efficient vehicles and nuclear power. Not heavy taxes by the government. Its always a good idea to promote efficiency regardless if there is an immediate need for it.

Yeah, I'd categorise droughts that never end as inconvenient. "it's not happening to me so who cares". Brilliant attitude. If you're attitude was "it's not yet happening to me and if it does then there's nothing I can do about it because I think it's a natural occurance and not something we can control and we are, and always will be, at the whim of nature and we should just get over it and do our best to adapt"...then I'd have more respect.

Unless you've suddenly developed the ability to infer an attitude, interpreting what I said: I'm just not overly concerned. My own personal opinion is, yes we have climate change taking place but I'm not sure it is problematic, except to those inconvenienced by it, because it has happened before and will happen again. as anything other than we're at the mercy of nature then I'd suggest you re-read what I said. Unless you and I grew up reading dramatically different history and science books, I believe we've both read about climate change, the ice age, ad naseum. Believing we have the capacity to decide what climate is ideal for every place on this particular orb and should marshal forces to make it thus is arrogance beyond comprehension an would not do, will not do anything other than deliver another lesson in unintended consequences.

Its a question of scale. If the current change is 1000's of times greater than anything recorded over the last few 100,000 years would you be concerned?

I suggest you get checked out by a good psychiatrist and don't vote until you are able to think strait again. I can no longer take you seriously.

Global warming is just a bunch of overly hyped BS. Its just a way to get you to hand over your wallet in the name of the polar bears and the future children of the world who wont be able to chase butterflies in tall grassy fields if we don't pay up. I won't fall for it and I don't care what people tell me. I won't believe it until I experience warm(60F) rainy days in February for more than one year. Right now its much colder than the average temperature and it snowing like crazy like a normal winter day.

And I suppose you've checked out the evidence and can back up that statement? I guess all the scientists that believe in global warming and all the scientific studies conducted are part of some massive conspiracy theory to save “polar bears”? I guess you can just pump as much CO2 as you like into the atmosphere with no ill effects? Do you really believe your bullshit of are you just trying to be controversial?

Without global warming, that'd have been -20F, 15 inches of snow, and you'd not have had power and thus would have been unable to post this message

So for some percentage of the planet global warming will be a good thing? What percentage? 5%? 25% 65% Hmmm.... (Keep that pot stirring everybody!)

I'm pretty sure I would not like to live in a world in which I would never be offended. I am absolutely certain I don't want to live in a world in which you would never be offended. Dave
