It is the dll that contains all the MFC stuff (or at least a part of it).

It simply contains a bunch of functionalities that your MFC applications exploit. Without this DLL, your MFC application won't work (an exception may be an application that was statically linked to MFC DLLs and built). You hate google, don't you?
