All of us can thank him for it. Today is his 256th birthday. His birthday is a reminder that those who have power will always be tempted to abuse it and that they can be restrained only if they are kept under watchful eyes.[^] hmmm...I wonder how this is related to the current state of affairs?

It probably isn't since he died 171 year ago.

So that means Jefferson is irrelevant today, too?

He didn't say relevant. He said "related to" which means something else, hence the joke.... Oh nevermind.

My humor is a bit too sophisticated for you. Speaking of sophistication (or rather the lack thereof), I continuously find it shocking that you're 60 years old.

You're just mad because I proved the wiretapping wasn't illegal.

Daylight savings time throwing you off? I'm only 59.

Which obviously exceeds your level of sophistication.

Sorry, but when you get that old, individual months don't matter as much, so I rounded. Even so, for a long time I pegged you at 19 or 20 (just given your general outlook and reaction to things). I was honestly very surprised to find out how old you are.

I guess it's a bitch that you're such a stodgy old fart at 28 and I'm a vivacious free thinker at 59. Who'd have thought?

Precisely, just as the judiciary given the authority to 'interpret the constitution' now has the power to impose whatever world view upon us they please. Just as Roe v Wade, flag burning, and so many other decisions were examples of the abuse of power from a court controled by a minority with a leftist agenda imposed upon the majority.

Modern liberalism has never achieved anything other than giving Secularists something to feel morally superior about
