Vista Firewall and Antivir

Hey. Have someone found out a good and free firewall and Antivir software that runs under vista? Had some problems to find one. Most of the common ones don´t run under vista and the others are mostly crap. thx Fritz

I have AVG Free[^] running on Vista without any problems; I cannot vouch for it not being "crap", but then, I don't believe there is a single Anti-virus product that isn't "crap" in some-way-shape-or-form this day and age ... As for a fire wall, COMODO Firewall[^] works wonderfully and has all the advanced features of most commercial grade packages.

Bad Astronomy |VCF|wxWidgets|WTLthx for your replay. I tried avast, but it is very slow and you can use it for just 50 days. The virus scan i was used to was antivir. And is the comodo really running under vista? And sometimes I hab problems with it. Thx Fatbuddha

I have it running on a lab machine with Vista without any problems ... what problems are you having? My Son used to use Antivir, but ended up with viruses on his machine anyway. He now uses Norton. You might want to have a look at Top 10 Reviews, for detailed information on Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam and Firewall softwares. Top 10 Reviews[^] They have good information on that site.

Bad Astronomy |VCF|wxWidgets|WTLWith the comodo I had some problems running a romte desktop. So i used kerio. A very good one. It is true that the antivir isn as good as the nortan. I had norton on my system and it slows the system down like nothing else. But I think it is the best one. Thx for the Top 10 Reviews.
