Good thing we are finally fighting back then, eh?

Modern liberalism has never achieved anything other than giving Secularists something to feel morally superior about

Eh. They use the word 'terrorist' too freely. Seems to be watering down the meaning.

What do you mean "finally"? You mean we've always had to deal with suicide bombers?

a 25-percent jump in the number of nonvehicular suicide bombings targeting large crowds. That overwhelmed a 12-percent dip in suicide attacks involving vehicles. Well duh, have you seen the price of gas? :omg: Of the 58,000 people killed or wounded in terrorist attacks around the world in 2006, more than 50 percent were Muslims, the report, says with government officials, police and security guards accounting for a large proportion, the report says.

The number of child casualties from terrorist attacks soared by more than 80 percent between 2005 and 2006 to more than 1,800, while incidents involving educators were up more than 45 percent and those involving journalists up 20 percent, the report says. sure 58k children, government officials, police and security, educators and journalists but no fetuses so... they're pretty good people I guess.

I'm a smoker. I have no problem with cigs being expensive: they should be! Just because my personal financial situation would benefit from cheaper cigs doesn’t mean the government is wrong in taxing them so heavily. There are many things to take into account such the toll smokers exert on the healthcare system.

Oh yes they are. Its my business if I want to smoke. I don't want the government trying to control what I take into my lungs or anything else for that matter. I don't want to give the government my hard earned money and I will no longer do so when I buy my cigarettes. I just bought a carton of Marlboros for 32 bucks including shipping. Thats 2.13 a pack. Actually it may be 3.20, I used to buy 1 pack at a time at my local store so I don't know how many are in a carton, I think its 10 or 15. People can run their own lives, we don't need the government telling us what to do or controlling us with heavy taxes on certain items. They are just taking advantage of those who are addicted to smoking. Its almost like taxing water or food.

The money goes to other things, such as those stupid commercials. It would be much wiser to allow the smoker to keep his/her money and spend it on his/her own health care or more important things such as food. Pretty soon they will start taxing sugar and fatty foods. If the government continues with its insanity I will grow my own tobacco and smoke it with a pipe. I remember you also believe the government should tax fuel. You just don't get it do you? How can you allow such terrible bullshit? They say the price of gas here will reach 4 dollars a gallon this summer which is absolutely ridiculous. I think its time for protests if that happens. The oil companies are ripping us off, the supply of fuel has not changed significantly enough to justify the price. Now with those prices do you still think it is wise for the government to tax it?

Your logic seems to go something like this: “Boo fucking hoo, I’m a smoker but government taxes on smokes make them expensive, so fuck the government. I'm going to secede and form my own country.” Well here’s a news flash, it’s not all about you.

Im a smoker too and while I'd rather have free ciggies Im happy for the government to tax it. We are responsible for our own addictions and should pay the cost of them Im also happy that our government tax petrol. That way the people that make the most use of our roads pay the majority of the cost of maintaining them

I wasn't bragging: my point was to show that although I'm a smoker like you, I'm not blind to the larger issue and can look at it without personal bias. Your logic seems to go something like this: “Boo fucking hoo, I’m a smoker but government taxes on smokes make them expensive, so fuck the government. I'm going to secede and form my own country.” Well here’s a news flash, it’s not all about you.

No NO NO!!! Your not getting the point at all. To me, this seems to be an abuse of power, it's outrageous, it's unconstitutional and a form of harassment, oppression and discrimination. It's absolutely despicable to say the very least!!! We smokers need to take a stand NOW! This has gone beyond too far, it's way over the top and it's got to stop!

Do a Google search on "cost of smoking on the healthcare system"; do some reading and get a clue.

In America you pay your own medical bills for the most part. If you end up in the hospital for lung cancer then you will pay for it. If you don't have insurance or the money to pay it then you will be in debt and/or loose your home and vehicle(s) *IF* you choose to receive medical treatment.. YOU are the one who needs to get a clue. You still are not understanding the big issue. Its not about health care! I don't give a shit about health care, its a fucking joke and I will not put money into it, I will not buy health insurance. If I get sick enough to die, then I will cease to exist. Its going to happen regardless and I would rather have enough money to have a nice computer and have plenty of food and comforts to make life enjoyable. They are going to start taxing caffeine, sugar, and fat. They will do anything to justify it and make fools like you and Josh Faggot Gay to support it.

That way the people that make the most use of our roads pay the majority of the cost of maintaining them
