It is so bueatiful. The evenings here in Provence, the luminous colours, the smell of the pines, the frogs and cicadas, it is really very nice. Not that I have only ecperienced and appreciate the south east. No, Brittany, the Vendee, The wine at 12 euros for a 5 liter bag in a box. The pleasant politeness of the people, their charm and humour. Even if in the Banlieus they do burn a few cars. Dont forget, France has a passion for violent protest.

Yes, but... it's still France! btw, be careful of saying (as in your bio) that you "dislike" fools. There is a famous come-back to that: Young man (trying to impress) Dorothy Parker: I can't bear fools. D.P.: How odd - your mother did! Fred (U.K. - where it is traditional, and a national sport, to bait the French. Well, honestly, what else can you do with them? Those frogs you so love the sound of - your neighbour's probably torn it's little legs off and eaten them by now....)

I think you may be enjoying some that 5 l of wine right now. Here in Canada we have a 6 pack (2L) of good quality beer for $12.00 so 6$/L of beer.

You are, in fact, talking crap. Take a Chateau neuf du pape. Here, it is around 11 euros a bottle. Put the same wine in a supermarket in Paris, of the UK? Well, in the UK it will be nearer 25 euros. In fact, the bag in a box wine I am drinking right now is vintaged and AOC and is nice. The gret thing about the lighter (in structure, not in alcohol) bag in the box wines from Provence is that they can be drunk at midday without pinning your head to the floor. Try that with a South African Pinotage or a Chillian Malbec/Cabernet. You WILL be asleep very soon.

They call that "piquette" (another word for "cheap wine"). [Edit] Btw, I will be in France from Sept. 16 to Oct. 9, planning to spend some time in Nice with a friend.[/Edit]

That will be a "second division' team. All the best players are in the 4 teams that will play French championship semi-finals during the test-matchs vs NZ, so they will stay at home. Anyway, a surprise is always possible.... ... but highly improbable :)
