Well I asked for it. :) I wanted something a bit different originally, but after consulting my dictionary I realized there weren't any verbs starting with x. So, I couldn't very well have a complete sentence. I was able to pull this off thanks to remembering the cheesy 80's movie Xanadu. Check my sig for it. For me it means a person gets what they see. After all, Xanadu is supposed to be a good place, but even that good (like in life) can be seen as coarse if the eye is bitter This one was more fun too because I got to learn some interesting words that I'm sure will make people think I'm crazy(ier) if I can remember to use them in conversation. :) Jeremy L. A teacher I am not. Today I was supposed to show two people how to use Crystal Reports to tie into a SQL DB. Okay, no big deal. I crank up the Crystal Reports designer on my machine and boom we have an error. So, for the meeting I go to another machine that has 8.5 installed on it. Guess what, I have never used the designer in 8.5 before. I've mainly used 8 with some 7. It isn't that different, but because of the differences and the fact they became slightly impatient made this go from bad to worse. My brain just gave out on me. Uh was about the most intelligent thing I was saying. :( I've used Crystal Reports a lot, but never 8.5 and I guess I shouldn't be a teacher because my brain loves to crap out in these situations. I rescheduled in a couple of hours so I can play with 8.5's designer, and I hope I don't screw this one up. Anyone else have any brain fart situations? Us brain farters have to stick together ya know. ;) Jeremy L. Falcon Homepage : Sonork = 100.16311

I was a speaker at VSLive 2001 in Sydney, Au and whatever could go wrong with each of my presentations, did go wrong. At one point in one of the talks, I foolishly throught I could get a really simple demo going and it failed, fialed, failed.....then it failed one last time for good measure. I tried to make light of the situation by cracking a joke, but I had a tough crowd that was obviously not amused. In another talk, the only thing I could say was, "It worked just as you guys were walking in the door....geez man!" - "geez, man" :omg: - I said that to a room full of developers - niiiice! :| I came away from there with a much clearer understanding of what it means to practice, practice, and practice some more, get the demos to work each and every time, have a "plan B" ready, and to cool it with the over-confidence thing. It's nice to be confident, but it's better to have things work when it really counts. Essam - Author, JScript .NET Programming

"When a friend hurts us, we should write it down in the sand, where the winds of forgiveness get in charge of erasing it away, and when something great happens, we should engrave it in the stone of the memory of the heart, where no wind can erase it" Nish on life [methinks]
