Why ? Why do Americans make fun of Canadians ? Aren't they on the same level of richness, status etc ?

          1. They all seem so damn friendly. Go to a major city in the US and you probably won't find the majority of people that friendly. Maybe it's the lack of sun. 2. I question anyone who wants to live that close to the North Pole. I live in South Dakota and it's still too freaking cold in the winter. 3. You can't trust people who put an animal called a 'loonie' on their coinage.

Because in America "Moosehead" is a beer, in Canada it's a felony.

I know this is a repost but I couldn't resist.:-> Canada and U.S. were at war against each other, the Canadians were throwing grenades across the border. While the Americans were pulling the pins and throwing them back. I know but I couldn't help it.

I went to Canada once and they kept asking me that... "So, why do Americans all call each other buddy, eh?". Or they would try and imitate an American by saying "Hi buddy, eh?". I started punching whoever said that square in the gut because I knew that, since they're Canadian, they wouldn't bother to fight back.

which is exactly my point ... why the (undeserving) superior feeling? What is it in you people that makes you feel superior to everyone else in the world?

Because our population consists of people (or descendants thereof) who escaped from all the various ratholes around the planet to forge new lives in a more free and prosperous society. While I do not think Americans as a group are superior, I do think the US has some of the most superior qualities such as freedom of speech, free lower education, booming economy, the ability of the individual to do pretty much whatever they want (some restrictions apply).

While I do not think Americans as a group are superior, I do think the US has some of the most superior qualities such as freedom of speech, free lower education, booming economy, the ability of the individual to do pretty much whatever they want (some restrictions apply).

You mean the Marxist version? The real truth is that some people are born to be Americans (ie - a desire to assume responsibility for ones own welfare) and some are not. Those who are come to America. Granted, non-Americans currently living in the US (we like to call them 'democrats') are trying to change all of that. For the time being, however, we are still the land of people who strive to stand on their own two feet and care for their own needs in their own way.
