Does anyone know if its possible to run dual-boot - Vista & XP? I have the HDD space to do ti and just dont want to lose what I have with a stable running XP machine but I would like to test drive Vista first before moving completely to it.

Of course! Lots of people have done that.

To solve this problem , you could create a backup of your XP partition (or a disk image), and then burn the image to a DVD (dependant on the image size), or place it on a DIFFERENT physical disk (i.e. not just a different partition on the same disk as the XP partition). Look at this link for more on dual-booting Vista and XP. Also, before you buy (and install!) Vista, take the Microsoft Upgrade Advisor to see if your hardware is compatible. Use this link :) Note also, that a lot of peripherals are incompatible with Vista :sigh:, for example, I had to go through about 5 different network cards to find one that worked with Vista, and I still havent got an ordinary external USB disk to work :sigh:.. Also, Vista is quite hard-disk space hungry :sigh:, and, a clean install of Vista (Ultimate Edition) takes up about 15GB of space (this seems to go down by a fair bit, however, after some usage.. maybe some temporary files from the install get deleted or something). Hope this helps! --PerspX

There are no "short" Vista questions - just short Vista answers: "No, you can't do that."
