To H-1B Or Not To H-1B?[^] Are we facing an IT shortage of crisis proportions, or systematically destroying a skilled and capable homegrown workforce?
The answer is the latter, which is one of the major reasons I opposed the now failed 'immigration Reform' bill, which would have removed all limits on H1B visas for those with graduate degrees, and doubled the existing cap for undergraduates. We need to kick the idiots in congress that are pandering to the big companies out and elect some people who will actually represent the average voter (if any such strange creatures can be found).

Make campaign finance tax financed and this might be possible. We'll never have politicians that don't pander to corps as long as they're dependent on them for their campaign finances.

No, make it illegal for anyone but individuals to donate to campaigns. And limit individuals to $2000 per candidate per election. Get corporations, unions and special interest groups out of politics entirely. The idea of using taxes to do this sounds good on the surface, but there is no fair way to decide who gets what, so it ends up unworkable, just like the federal matching funds today don't work (and many candidates are simply avoiding them so they can also avoid the limits on campaign spending that come with them).
