Why?

Why do people insist on posting programming questions in this forum? I would think you'd get much faster/better responses in the appropriate programming forums. I thought this forum was for asking Vista-related usage questions.

However the DWM is a feature only present in Vista (with the Aero theme enabled). Also note the text at the top ^^: "The Code Project discussion boards - Vista Vista Related discussions" "Vista Related discussions".. doesnt say anything about not being Vista+programming related discussions.. --PerspX

That doesn't wash. There are all kinds of things that exist in XP that aren't in Win2k, which has things tha aren't in Win98. When you ask a programming question, you should always include the OS you're developing for/under, and the version of the compiler you're using. This happens every day in the programming forms. When I come into this forum, I expect to see Vista-related discussions about features, bugs, work-arounds, etc. If you really want the truth, this forum can just barely justify its own existence and only because Vista is a bit different from XP/Win2k.

I agree. I think John might be talking about posts like the one below titled "problem in c++". That post seemed to have nothing to do with Vista and was a general C++ question.

Actually, I'm talking about *all* programming questions in this forum.

Yes, the programming questions really should go to the respective forum of the language being used.
