Apparently the situation in Iraq has worsened to the point at which the soldiers can no longer afford guns, and instead have to throw bullets at people[^]. Well, either that or they've come up with some super special guns that fire bullets with the casings still attached. You'd think there would be the slightest bit of fact checking when they post up these news reports. EDIT - Yahoo have removed the link. Basically it was a picture of an elderly lady holding up bullets that she was complaining had been shot at her house. The problem was, the bullets were clearly unfired - they even still had the casings.

Yahoo moved or deleted the article, here's more information.[^]

Mike The NYT - my leftist brochure. Calling an illegal alien an “undocumented immigrant” is like calling a drug dealer an “unlicensed pharmacist”. God doesn't believe in atheists, therefore they don't exist.

I've read elsewhere that the woman in this picture had had her house shot up a number of times. Maybe they're related?

War is always worse than people who were not actually in them, think they are.

Of course - however this woman's story is clearly made up. If not by her, then by whoever is paying her to look like a 'victim'. She claimed to have pulled those bullets out of the wall of her house, when they could not have been fired from a gun.

Sure that's not a good thing, lying is not a good thing. By contrast how sad is it that people think they need to make stuff up to get people to believe war is bad? I mean what is your point? That this story is a lie and it's not good to lie, or that this story is a lie and therefore everything in Iraq is peaches and cream? Really, what is your point?

that you can't believe a fucking thing you read from lame stream media because it is all contrived propaganda. but your comments raise a few questions. with your aversion to war, just under what circumstances would you fight or are you a Quaker that would sooner be killed than fight? how long would you stand on the sidelines watching someone (or some group of people) get the shit kicked out of them before you'd step up and help? does your aversion to war mean that following Peral Harbor you'd have said, "Crap" then ignore the Japanese and certainly Hitler.

I said war is bad. So does this mean you are arguing that it is good? Please don't change the subject here, I mean don't talk about the good "results" of the war, I mean you categorize the "war" part itself as good. I mean really, did I support Saddam? No. Do I think it is a good thing he no longer rules Iraq? I don't think he should have ever ruled so much as a McDonalds. However do I think it was worth the thousands of lives that were lost in horrific ways, the thousands of injuries, some so horrifying even pictures don't tell the story, and ongoing hardships that I can't even imagine, that will continue on for unknown years or decades to come? Ummmm probably not.

Yeah I have actually done that more than once in my life. "I" decided to put "myself" in harms way, to commit "myself" to an effort to aid someone. Comparing that to our country going to war with another country, on a scale of 1 to 10 in equality, that ranks about ( -20 )

I am pretty sure we already had this retarded discussion of how Pearl Harbor is in no way similar to Iraq. If you want to open up that discussion again please do so by providing some evidence that proves they are in fact parallel. but your questions raise a question. absolutely. I firmly believe in attacking before being attacked, which means I totally support premptive war. Following that logic, we should now be taking action against Iran and Syria.

So you see those two as equivalent? Of course also just a big overall WOW! I mean you have said stuff in the past that indicated you might be a somewhat reasonable person and now you go all hip-hop postal and advocate a "cap the planet" policy. In case you are not aware there is this stuff called "history", you might want to check it out a bit.

and that is why I support action: Pearl Harbor - if we'd have gotten involved at the outset we wouldn't have been so ill prepared 9-11 - if we had taken out Bin Laden or not tucked our tails and ran from Lebanon we wouldn't be having many of the discussions we're currently having.
