Well heres just a little bit of info for you. We here in Australia don't have government agencies or computers, so these Trojan-horses don't scare us.

Well heres just a little bit of info for you. We here in Australia don't have government agencies or computers, so these Trojan-horses don't scare us.

IBM sold its personal computer division to Lenovo[^] a mainland Chinese company, making it one of the largest suppliers of personal computers. Now consider the possibilities for firmware based mischievous behavior, or worse.

The question is whether the Chinese government, which essentially controls everybody and everything in that police state, is behind such attacks.

Almost all of your hardware components, especially on the cheaper end, for any system already come from china.

oh, I know but this is an acquisition that has worried me since it happened. the worrsome part is that these PCs would be found in defense industries where those industries (as well as agencies) would have been purchasing what they believed to be high-end IBM products.
