      Are you thinking that you could enable task manager and then terminate the malicious process to make your PC safe? Forget about it. This is rather a very complex task. You need to clean up the virus. That would fix not only the issue with task manager, but would fix every other problem that the virus created. I would suggest you download HijackThis, create a log, and then ask for help at the Bleeping Computer[^] malware removal forum by posting your HijackThis log there.

        I think you can also use taskkill to kill processes from cmd. X|
