    He didn't actually say 9/11.

I realise that, my comment was a classic reverse inverse response and you just provided the mirror image.

Its the 11th of Sept here at the moment and I thought it would be interesting to see where everyone was on this day 6 years ago when you heard about the attacks in the US I was here[^] on a surfing trip with a mate, its was late at night and we we're sitting up waiting for some other friends to drive up from Sydney. We'd both fallen asleap while watching the telly when someone called to tell us what was happening. We saw the second aircraft crash into the building and stayed up most of the night watching the reports. It was very sureal to wake up too especially considering we were very very stoned and worn out from a long day of driving / surfing -- modified at 3:20 Tuesday 11th September, 2007 I really cant spell to save my life

Northern Italy, I was watching a film, I hit pause to go to the loo as I was tippling a decent red and ten saw the 2nd plane impact. My missus was on the beach with the kids and my mother, I located them with binoculars, eventually they saw me wildly gesticulating to come home, I was quite agitated, they laughed and went on relaxing so I opened another red. When they finally came home I was tired and emotional.

I was in Brisbane, my wife and I were up early in the morning to go to the airport to board a plane to go to New Zealand... We sat and watched planes crashing into buildings while waiting in the flight lounge to board a flight... and when it did get time to board, the announcement went like this - "Air New Zealand in conjunction with our partners United Airlines would like to thank you for flying with us today"... they could have NOT mentioned that point!! Of course, it was all very surreal... and the flight was white knuckle the whole way - luckily the bourbon was flowing!! In an interesting side note, on the return trip home we got caught up in the Ansett collapse... Fun times!!

In a break from a meeting - we were discussing (by a strange coincidence) how fit one of the female news reporters on TV at the time was, so we flicked the tv on to try and find her, only to be greeted with replays of the 1st plane going in. Within a few mins, we realised how serious it was, and essentially the whole company squeezed into the goldfish bowl to see what was going on.... I then took the pm off, went home, and got in just as the first tower collapsed.

I was just leaving a trade show in London... My wife phoned me and said the Twin Towers had been hit by a plane, didn't have a clue what she was on about. We spent the drive out of London listening to the radio reports and keeping a close eye on all the airplanes that are as always circling above...

I was at work and I think I came back from lunch or something and a co-worker told me "a small airplane have crashed into world trade center" swedish media first reported about a small cessna type of plane that hit the towers. but as time passed, the plane grew and grew :-P Also, all the big online swedish newspapers went offline due to heavy traffic.

I was at work, wondering why the hell no news web site would work. After 10 minutes of loading, line by line, a picture of a burning twin tower appeared. "Shit! Sean and Paula!!!" was the first thing I thought. I know Sean used to walk through the towers on his way to work, and Paula got on the subway from the twin tower station. Luckily, both were unharmed.

I was at Sun City, attending the closing party of Tech-Ed. Towards the end of the day, when all the seminars etc. were over, I noticed people milling around bars, coffee shops etc. watching the TV's they always have on. I gathered the small bit of knowledge that terrorists had flown a plane into the WTC, but couldn't find out too much more. I later left the party for a spliff, and walking past the TV to go back to the bash, I stopped to get the latest on the WTC story, and it was then that the building collapsed. I sat down very still for a while before joining my colleagues and conveying the news. They had a dedication and moment's silence and all in sympathy for the victims. Interestingly, my friend's father was in the US as part of a project management team responsible for fitting HUD's to SAA planes, and of course anyone that had anything to do with planes was deserving of some thought that he may not be allowed to return home or something.

I do not believe they are right who say that the defects of famous men should be ignored. I think it is better that we should know them. Then, though we are conscious of having faults as glaring as theirs, we can believe that that is no hindrance to our achieving also something of their virtues. - W. Somerset Maugham My New Blog

I was at work, Then a call came out for help in regards to the international planes being diverted to Newfoundland (where I live). You can read about it here http://www.snopes.com/rumors/gander.htm[^] I don't live in Gander but in St. John's Newfoundland where we also have housed many flights and showed them hospitality.

At work. I heard a colleague talking about a plane which crashed into the WTC, but nobody thought tp a terrorist attack but to an accident. It was only after going home that I learned a second plane crashed, that they were airliners and not some cessnas, and that it was deliberated action and not an accident.

In my college dorm room oversleeping. I normally woke up between 8:30 and 9:30 that semester, that particular day I woke around 10:40 and had an 11:00 class. I didn't see anyone while brushing my teeth but managed to figure out that Something Had Happened by the time I got to my history and philosophy of science class. THe proff filled me and several other classmates in with both some accurate news and bogus rumors including 'a dozen more hijacked ac still flying' (immediate reaction WTF is the Airforce). He then spent a few minutes prattling on about how nothing would ever be the same again before attempting to conduct class for maybe 20 minutes before the school administration got around to shutting it down. Given that we were in what was by a large measure the tallest building outside of downtown Pittsburgh he had alot of trouble trying to keep our attention.

At home, working.... a relative rang with the news, and I sat transifixed in front of the TV for the rest of the day... Afterwards, I noticed two distinct reactions amongst people I met: thise who had watched it live, and those who only heard it about it or saw it on a la ter news broadcast (perhaps after returning from work) - the former, such as myself, were far more traumatised and affected by it; to many of the latter it was just another news story, albeit a terrible one.

Out boating on the Norfolk Broads with my sister and pretty much missed the entire thing. Stopped in at a local shop to get bread on the way back to the hostel and was served by a woman who never looked at me once. She was just standing glued to a TV with her mouth open but I can't say I took a lot of notice at the time. Have since spent quite a lot of time studying the event and concluded that most of what we've been told about it is a lie.:(

Nothing is exactly what it seems but everything with seems can be unpicked.

*sigh* There's always one. Have you bothered to read the sites that explain why the conspiracy sites are ridiculous ?
