Alcoholic Drinks

Not being a sourpuss but I can't stand alcahol. Also, as some friends can testify, I can make a fool of myself sober :-O

So, what do we all drink here? Myself, i quite like Whisky. And when its a cold day, whisky in my hot chocolate (the cheaper whisky of course, don't want to waste the expensive stuff!) That, and cider, sweet, sweet cider. Of course after that there are many an interesting beer around, which of course i would not decline if offered. So, what will it be for rest of you? A glass of red wine? A pint of your best ale perhaps? Or just the orange juice you left fermenting under the stairs? For those of use who are under the age of 18 (or those poor soles in the USA 21, or perhaps even those lucky sods in Europe, 16) who of course would never have drunk alcohol *wink wink, nudge nudge* what is you "parents" favourite drink? ;)
My current favourite word is: Bauble!

mostly wine, good wines from all over the world. Right now, leftover red from Australia, a Scotchmans Hill : Swan Bay Geelong Pinot Noir 2005 on summer days, I like a good gin-tonic, or Cava or any other "lower" cost sparkling wines.

Whiskey, and a good port. Bushmills 12 yo is still a favorite, as is Noval 10yo. Strangely, a "good port" is usually more expensive than a "standard-good" whiskey. The local beers aren't to beat (except by some-slightly-more-away-beers). Wine - red, dry, preferably rich in tannine. Latest discovery are some Carmenere's, though they are sometimes too rich.

I've been dry for just shy of 8 years now. If I hadn't give up, I'd be curious if I'd still be on the Vodka or if I'd moved on to the Whisky. I always liked the smell of whisky but the taste was still growing on me.

I like single malt scotch and martinis. Right now I have a Glenfiddich solera reserve (15 years) at home as well as some French Vodka - Grey Goose. Also while I am not much of a beer guy, I tried some Colt 45 couple of weeks ago and really liked it.

There are many kinds of drunk and, fortunately for me, I found out early that I am a vomity drunk. I drink, I get sick. That's it. After a few times of waking up covered in puke I decided it just wasn't worth it so I stopped. Now I can't even bear the smell of scotch or brandy. Yeeeuk! X|

Something probably most of you don't know: Pastis[^] (Ricard being my favorite) - and Vodka (with a preference for Zubrowka and Stolichnaïa), pale-ale beers, red and rosy wines wines.

When I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior a funny thing happened. He took away my desire to drink. It's not that I think that it is wrong for a Christian to drink. I have no problem with a Christian drinking if he so chooses...that's between him and God. Drinking alcohol wasn't in God's will for me, so he took away the desire for me to drink. Before I was saved I was much like most of the people on CP, my life revolved around drinking. My life now revolves around Jesus.
