There are a lot of varieties that fit your expectations. Someone should build a Supermarket for religeons on the web, so you can pick choose and compare. I quite like the Bahai faith with a touch of Shinto on a Nostic Christian basis. Bahuallah is quite good because he was recent, etc. Some of these old religions are pretty stuck down in dogmna and have lost there true meanings. Regardz Colin J Davies

I need a religion that I can honestly believe in. The rituals should not be too silly, and having to speak in tounges should be kept to a minimum(I don't want to get locked up in the looney bin). I am sick of my ways, and I want to give up my terrible habits, some of which are very embarrassing. Oh, the God which is right for me, please come forward and I will worship you. I need a World's Religion book so I can sort them all out. Maybe I could spark a revival of some of the ancient Gods.. Which is the most powerful? If you have a cool religion, please note it here, and I will investigate. I am serious so please no spamming or jokes. :)

Hey Martin, If you are serious about this, then take a look at some books by Edward De Bono. It will answer lots of your questions about religion. For a provocative book take a look at "I am right, you are wrong". If you want to understand how your brain really works, read his exellent book called "Mechanism of the mind". If you want more meaning to your life, pick up "Lateral Thinking", "Parallel Thinking" and "Teach Yourself to Think". You might be saying, "What does all this have to do with religion?" Well, you will find that out after reading some of his books. They are much broader than religion and less restircting. You will learn how to control your thinking - you will not need the rules of religion or any other belief system to have direction. Jeremy. "Hey man, Taliban, Tali me Banana."

Buddhism is quite flexible and doesn't demand to much. The major problem with the Illuminatis is there's no hot dog on friday. I agree with the others is that seeing a councelor isn't something bad. After all, if your body aches, you see a doctor. However, I trust in councelors even less than in doctors. So try to find someone who says "yeah s/he really helped me" (and doesn't look like looney bin fodder) Another option: 1) basic Yoga - just to learn some relaxation techniques. No acrobatics, just the "concious muscle relaxing" and some breathing techniques. 2) Explore some "exotic esoterics" stuff. They often come with a view of the world that can give you alternatives. I found nordic rune casting quite interesting. 3) Don't stand above everything. Be open, allow yourself to be involved. It's easy to laugh at chrstianism as on tarot. However, they all represent some model of the world that sometimes helps you getting along with it better. If this doesn#t change anything for you, see a councelor.

My mind is very sound, and I run a very successful business, so successful in fact that I can spend time looking at CP instead of worring about money. Who is more sane, someone who speaks in "tongues", or someone who recognizes that doing so is a sign of schizophrenia. I am honestly asking for information on religion, and I can't help that you feel threatened that someone may choose something other than Christianity. In short, I find it very offensive for you to be giving my a phychological exam when you are a programmer, and you are a person who has spoken in tongues(not that it is that bad). How can you determine my mental state just by one post I have made? I think you are insecure with your own religion and if someone seeks something else you automatically want them to go see a counsler. I think you may have issues also.:rose:

I don't have issues, I was just trying to show that I am open to investigating new religions such as Hindu, and other eastern ways of thought. Maybe my post came off as a bit silly, so I'm sorry that you took it that way. :)

Interesting link... I, too, have never heard of it. There are three types of people in the world: Those who make things happen; those who watch things happen; those who wonder what happened.

Yes, I can understand that but I should have thought Mazy would have known as since the post Shah era in Iran the Bahai have been systematically persecuted there. As well as some other small groups. Regardz Colin J Davies

God will only fill a hole in your life if the hole is there to start with. Think alcoholism and drug abuse - it's the same triggers underneath. ____________________ David Wulff What's the point in life if you can't point and laugh when someone trips over themselves? :)

I have just the thing for you - Wulffianity! I only ask for five percent of your income, use of your car on weekends, and conjucal rights to your first born daughter, and in return I will be your God, your Messiah and you Pope. So how about it Martin, are you ready to live!? :) ____________________ David Wulff What's the point in life if you can't point and laugh when someone trips over themselves?
