I really wonder what is causing the various governments to keep a mum on the various fake Godmen, who call themselves on par God's messengers and do all sorts of underworld activities. They try to make the best of people's weakness in religious principles and flee away with good booty. Because of these unscrupulous people, bona fide religious groups are often eyed with suspicion by the media and the public. At least in India, we have scores of them striking every now and then. A few of latest incidents in India are making one to think whether the local politicians are themselves behind the scenes organizing these shows: 1) Fake God-Men stages a polygamy racket and ends his life with his third consort: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Chennai/Godman_third_wife_end_life/articleshow/2957781.cms[^] 2) "Sri Amma Bhagavan" is yet another hypocrite. He started his camp as a career counsellor and then called himself God. Now he has pulled his wife also into the foray. And these buggers have created a stampede toll of late over here: http://www.newindpress.com/NewsItems.asp?ID=IEA20080424010033&Page=A&Title=Southern+News+-+Andhra+Pradesh&Topic=0[^]

Be careful one of those may be Vishnu on a white horse, back again to purify the world of evil one more time.

Per the literature, there is more than two thousand years to come for the incarnation of 'Vishnu on a white horse' to come on earth. All others currently claiming that is a humbug.

Looking at the other way -- was that over-emphatic? I admit that there should be no middle-ground between us and the God.

                Like temples and priests?

This has been discussed, again and again and again and always we (the denizens of the CP lounge) have come to the conclusion that their method of rating is pure, untouched, unadulterated, genuine, verifiable, refined trash. MIM on TIOBE

The priest should facilitate us in appeasing the God. He should not act like 'We have to contact him to reach God' kind-of. In a much deeper sense, our heart is the temple and conscience is the sanctum-sanctorum in which my preferred God can be adored to my likes. :)
