Ah, OK, so it STILL hurts, does it? Interesting, interesting.

That's because you're still young. Don't worry about it, but also don't be so hard on yourself.

What? Being young or being hard on oneself? You're very bright - I suspect you realize that. I also think you under-rate yourself. You're 13 now, you are just beginning an important phase in your life. Take it slowly, there's no point in rushing to adulthood. I don't mean running around and acting like a general buffoon (you don't) - I mean take your time to learn and enjoy. Explore the things that interest you - even if those things are the diverse characters that inhabit this message board. Do it now. Enjoy it. Make sure to take it all in with a grain of salt. After 20 it just gets harder and harder. Don't take this the wrong way, but there's a saying "Youth is wasted on the young" - it will be a few more decades before you completely understand that, but eventually you'll get my point. By that time I'll be even more of a grumpy old man. My point is that I'd cash in all my chips tomorrow to be your age again.

You should know by now how hostile the Lounge is. Despite the stupidity here, I find the Soapbox much more relaxing. I feel "imprisoned" in the Lounge - like I have to watch my every step. By the way, you've got quite the fan club. I've never had so many greyed out posts. You dragged over all the regular Lounge lizards and their itchy '1 vote' fingers.

I like to dance on the edge in the lounge. I got a lot of 1 votes yesterday too. :)

It wasn't a word problem! I wasn't being insulting with the "youth is wasted on the young" quote. What I meant is that you don't realize how precious your time is when you're young until you get older. Maturity comes with heavier responsibilities and less free time to live and enjoy. As you get older you also have to face alot of unpleasant things along the way. I've done things and seen things I wish I hadn't - and that's the beauty of one's younger years: you get somewhat insulated from that. Anyways, I'm not trying to be pessimistic, I'm just giving you my perspective. You have an excellent head on your shoulders that will see you through.

I wasn't insulted, I just literally had no idea what to say. Something that I've only comparatively recently ( :-D ) gathered, though, is that I, unlike probably everyone else in my year, actually enjoy (in fact, realise) the freedoms afforded to me. Yeah, I can't drink alcohol or drive or get into R-rated movies, but I can drink Coke and get driven places by mum (or just walk, which I often do, especially to school) and...well, I still can't get into R-rated movies. Actually, you know what I CAN do? Cartwheels. Oh, and apparently I can dance too! Like, ballroom dancing, at least according to a few of the girls in my PE class. :-O :-D

Apologies for jumping into a conversation lilke this, but alot of this is bollocks. I have faced far less unpleasentness in my latter life than I did when young. Life is easy when you are older, a lot easier. You get to know yourself, know how people tick, dont take yourself or others too seriously, and learn to accept failure, both in you and others. Youth? Screw it. All that agonising over sex, ones appearance, what people think of you. Being told what to do, and worst of all, living an egotistical life. Its a painfull existence, I wouldnt take it back for one second. As for responsibilities, that is just a choice, not a condition. You dont have to be 'old' just because you get older.

                                          You're being very negative.
