Hi All, I am interested to see what people are using as source control in their "personal" environments. I use TFS at work but when it comes to working on my own projects at home I don’t really want to be handing over that kind of money... :( I have used a variety of free / cheap source control options without being overly satisfied. I hope someone here will be able to recommend something... :)

SVN is good, there are some very nice clients for it (like TortoiseSVN) that intergrate into Windows Explorer. Ther is also AnkhSVN which intergrates into Visual Studio but last time I tried that (admittidly a couple of years ago now) it wasn't too hot, it was usable but a bit flakey and lacking. If you want something with good intergration into Visual Studio then (*puts on his flame proof suit*) VSS is a possability. For small teams I've never seen it corrupt with the newer versions.

Why would you use CVS over SVN? :S

Perforce is free for that kind of use; up to two users. That's what I use at home. It's also what I chose for work so I like the fact that it's the same in both places.
