how to include Map effect in application

Hi.. I want to build following effect in my application I want to show how member are spred all over world. Page should contain country/world map. On clicking perticular region its expanded (ex. when india click its expanded and member count are listed in small popup. then on clicking any region in it it also expanded. It might be same as google map effect. Any advice will greatly help. Thanks in Advance.

good luck with that then, it would take one person a long time to re-create google maps ;P Why not create a picture of the world (image map) Then using co-ordinates mark on the map the general area of where these people are from Heres an example of image map: http://www.codeproject.com/KB/aspnet/ImageMap.aspx
