It's really too bad you don't have any marketable skills or education - something that might let you gross at least as much as what most of the people here have taken out for taxes.

Well, it seems they don't think you need to be eating for free. And it's their food. Not yours. So if you take it without permission you will not only get fired, you will be unable to collect unemployment. Then you won't have any problem worrying about whether you should pay for what you eat for lunch. You won't have any money at all. And of course, you won't be able to use them as a reference or even list them as a prior employer since you can hardly get another job after being fired for theft. Gosh the world sure is unfair, isn't it? :)

Is it even possible to live on $7 an hour? Is there such a thing as a minimum wage where he is?

As I have stated before I am a computer expert. I can fix any computer problem (hardware or software) quickly. I can also write my own software. I worked at CicuitCity as a PC technician, but I had to stand all day, work on a stupid little bench in the middle of the store with loud music and customers asking me questions. I only made an extra 2 dollars an hour of what I am making now.

They used to allow it until 3rd shift started eating like pigs making T-Bone steaks and all.

I seriously don't think I will get fired, because I'm not the only one. I was told by another cook that cooks can snack on what they want as long as it isn't expensive.

Hey don't sell him short! Minimum wage is $6.25. That extra seventyfive cents means that one hour of of his work is worth two six-packs of soda. Or about what I leave as a tip when I take someone out to dinner.

Most computer experts I know make a lot more than $9.00 @ hour. Last place I worked paid their interns more'n that to learn how to do basic repairs and setups. But I guess you are glad to have taken a pay-cut, since now you don't have customers asking you questions and all. What would you have done with that extra 80 bucks anyway?

It's always the other guys, isn't it. Innocents like you just get screwed over royally. Although I didn't think that a restaurant whose customers were on welfare would feature t-bones on the menu.

Yeah? Maybe he's the one who was cooking t-bones. hmmmm. . .getting hungry. Maybe I'll have a t-bone tonight. I've got a couple in the freezer more'n an inch thick. . .

I didn't quit, I was forced to resign because I failed to meet my sales quota. I forgot to mention I also had to sell.

Yeah, it's funny how retail stores expect that. Long time ago, I worked retail and went to college at night. Started as a stockboy, ended up as department buyer.

So by resigning you saved the state the trouble of having to pay you any unemployment compensation. Was that because of your political convictions?

I didn't know about unemployment benefits back then. I didn't need them anyways because I was living with my dad and I wasn't too upset because I didn't like the job, and I made enough to buy the laptop I am using now. About 3 months later I worked on the regional manager of waffle house 's computer and he offered me a job, I wasn't too thrilled about being a cook, but its all good. He said I could apply at any waffle house in the area and I would be hired.

I can live on it, barely. I can't really live on that right now because I am trying to pay off my credit cards. No health insurance, they would rather use incondesent bulbs that run 24/7.

Then maybe you could start your own restaurant so you could steal from yourself all you want. You could call it Henize's Home Cooking... until the health department shut it down.

Depends. My brother-in-law owns five retail places and he pays his people anywhere from $6.25 to $9.00 plus group insurance -- that they have to pay half of. Many other places (Walmart, Big Grocery Chains) around here pay the same, but keep most of their employees hours down to 30 or so, which means they are part-time and do not get any benefits at all, while managers, department heads and favored employees are in a nice plan. By the way, I have retire to rural South Carolina. The pay-scale in Boston, Massachusetts where I used to live is about 50% higher - but so is the cost of everything from food to housing to clothes. Even gas is cheaper here. Up there, $11.00 @ hour is really the minimum for anyone except bums wiping down a car at a car-wash. I doubt that Heinze can be said to be making a living, but since he can stiff his father for the rent, he's probably getting by.

I've only known a couple of professional cooks. They were both making about about 70 thou (and planned on making more). I'd guess you aren't quite in their class, huh?

I have gathered various quotes from the queeran which proves my point about islam. Some quotes aren't terribly intolerant or violent (I don't expect all of them to be) but the ones that are like these... "Slay them wherever you find them...Idolatry is worse than carnage...Fight against them until idolatry is no more and God's religion reigns supreme." (Surah 2:190-) "Fighting is obligatory for you, much as you dislike it." (Surah 2:216) ...prove my point. http://www.codeproject.com/script/Forums/View.aspx?fid=2605&msg=2572117[^]

And the Bible quotes saying to slay all the heathen nations, not to let the women and children live ?
