If there are any bastards around here it's me. For your own edification you should stop trying to police this website; it's not yours and it worked quite well without your presence. Furthermore, the members here (including me) don't understand your petty obsession with trying to get other members banned. If you keep it up, I'll start a petition to get you banned so that all this petty griping and false moral superiority of yours can stop nauseating the other members. If you don't like the Soapbox, stay out. Nobody is forcing you to read it. And if it's very existence bothers you, do us all a favour and stop coming to this website.

Don't mind me while I report that as abuse. Btw: how many abuse reports does it take to get one banned? EDIT: I knew I should have quoted you. Thanks for the '1-votes', btw. What's with your immature behaviour anyways?

Thank you for replying but if I'd wanted to hear from an asshole, I'd have farted.

Thanks for contacting me. I'm a little busy right now, so please hold your breath until I get back to you. Edit: Oh look, Norm gave me a 1-vote and ran away.

What seems to be Ilion's problem? According to Wikipedia, 'superiority complex' refers to a subconscious neurotic mechanism of compensation developed by the individual as a result of feelings of inferiority. The feelings of inferiority in this specific complex are often brought on by real or perceived social rejection, possibly as a result of the individual's inattentiveness to hygiene, appearance, or lower intelligence as compared to others. He's admitting to inattentiveness to hygiene.

Interesting how he permits to himself what he wants to deny to the rest of us. He definitely belongs in the lounge.

There's a disturbing trend starting here. It seems that there's very much an Us and Them mentality occurring both here and in the Lounge. I would like to think that I was equally welcome in both areas as and when I choose to visit them, and I would hope that the same applied to everybody. Yes - there are disagreements and 1 votes, but it is disturbing that there is a real schism appearing here. We're mainly grown ups, so why have we let ourselves get into this state?

Yeah, and when I call him on it he 1-votes me, deletes the message and runs.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that's how it is supposed to work. However there seems to be some minority demographic that sees fit to call for the banning of other members and the shutting down of forums. It's all quite juvenile. If I don't like a particular thread, I just pass it by. I haven't figured out what's so difficult about that.

I hear what you say, and I didn't mean that the SB and the Lounge were or should be on the point of some sort of Civil War. However, I think you are preaching to the choir. With very few exceptions (my snarky remark being one of 'em) the "we are so much better than they are" posts have appeared in the Lounge with a smattering in Suggestions. In one Lounge thread regarding how terrible SB was, I pointed out that 6 out of 10 of the Lounge regs contributing to that thread were also frequenters of SB. It seemed to slow the critcism for the moment, but it appears that there are folks desperately in need of proving their superiority by suggesting that SB get shut down. Or hoping it stays open so "those people" won't get uppity and post in the Lounge. Here in SB your thoughts get a hearing. My guess is that you would be 1-voted and snarled at if you made a similar post on the lounge. That, of course, is only my opinion and worth every penny you paid for it. ;)

He's sending insulting posts and then deleting them? That's exactly what Joshua was pulling with me early in the week. How tacky.

He wrote something about Tim having shit in his mouth. Given his supposed "intolerance" for all things offensive (including wanting to ban Josh and the Soapbox in general) I told him I would be reporting his message as abuse. Minutes later it was deleted and I was 1-voted. I should have quoted it, but didn't. Now it appears he has changed his name to "Lost Values" although "Missing Marbles" might be more appropriate.

Now you are giving American politics a worse name than it deserves  I can't see what prompted the lounge comments, but either I've actually grown older, or the soapbox has become bvery kindergarden-childish in the last years.
